Has anyone ever had to do a “muslin fitting” before the designer starts making your dress? I chose a specific dress from a designer, I’m not having it custom made. I understand what muslin is and that they will use it to ultimately act as the pattern for my gown, however, I’m not sure what to expect at the fitting.
Will the entire dress be made of muslin, including the huge ballgown skirt? Or do they usually just fit the bodice?
Do you have any idea how much freedom I will have in making changes to the muslin pattern? Or does that vary by designer?
For reference, I’m working with Saks Fifth Avenue Bridal in Manhattan and the designer is Vera Wang. Anyone with any advice would be much, much appreciated! I hate going into things like this unprepared. I figured I’d try here for answers before I call the salon for guidance.
