Hi everyone! My name is Pam, and I have been waiting for the day to come where I can join this site and partake in these awesome pre-wedding boards! My boyfriend of almost 5 years, Craig, proposed to me this morning the second I walked in the door from work!!
Now, I am a nurse, and I work overnights. Christmas was my holiday to work. We live in Houston, TX, although we are both from Massachusetts. I lost my grandfather 3 months ago, and between reeling from the loss during the holidays, and working Christmas, I was by no means in the holiday spirit this year. I had always told my boyfriend (oops, fiancee!) that I did not want a holiday proposal. That was the exact reason he ended up doing it!
As the story goes, I came home from work at 7:30 this morning, exhausted and ready to sleep most of Christmas day away. I walked into the apartment, kissed our new puppy hello, and saw him, all dressed and smiling. I thought it was odd, but I kissed him and wished him a Merry Christmas. All of a sudden, he goes, "so, what do you think?" and I say, "What?" and he points to the wall in our living room. Hung up were stockings, each with a letter, spelling out "Will U Marry Me?"!! I dropped everything I had in my hands and burst into tears. After I choked a yes and gave him the biggest hug, he sat me down and proceeded to take a gift out of every stocking, and each gift was either something that reminded him of me, or a memory from something throughout our relationship. The ? stocking held my ring. And girls, let me tell you, he did GOOD (as you can see). He picked exactly what I wanted!
Needless to say, this ended up being a Christmas to remember, and I have been walking around work all night tonight on cloud 9! We will be getting married in 2013, official date TBD. Hope you enjoy my story!
