I was never much of a romantic. So whenever I’d heard or read that someone’s proposal was “magical,” I thought Pshaw. What an overstatement. Ladies, my SO proposed last night, and it was magical!
The night started with dinner and a trip to the Zoo for Zoo Lights. He then took me to where we had our first date and our first kiss. After an absolutely beautiful speech, he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I was a giggling mess by this point and a bit taken off guard. I suspected the ring was on its way home (to my finger), but I wasn’t expecting a public proposal. I don’t like all eyes on me, so when he got down on his knee I nearly freaked.
After I said yes, I gave him a big hug and a smooch and told him that I love him. A minute later, a few guys that had witnessed our event asked if we’d just gotten engaged. They were congratulatory and took our picture.
It was such a nice (and magical) evening.
And now…onto some ring porn!
I took this one for my SO:

Thanks, Ladies! My SO and I went ring-shopping together a few times so that he’d get an idea of what I liked, but he made the final decision himself. And I think he did an excellent job!
@shirasagi: Lol! Iron Man is one of my SO’s faves!

Edit: so we had some ring drama, which I’ve written about elsewhere but forgot to mention here. Long story short, the appraisal raised some red flags regarding the quality of the stones. My fiance decided not to mess around and is returning the ring (he got it online).
We went window-shopping for rings on Sunday, not planning to buy anything, when I fell in love with a cluster ring. Here it is:
I absolutely love it and can’t take my eyes off of it!
