First of all, finding this website and this forum has been great! Nowhere else can those of us tortured by waiting for someone to pop the question "get together" like this. :)

My BF, C, and I have been dating for almost 17 months now. I started thinking he might do it this December, partly because I told him once that my dream proposal was always a Christmastime proposal and partly because it would be good timing--after my exams.

Well, today he asked me what I want for Christmas! I joked about wanting a ring, of course, and he laughed and said he knew that's what I'd say. Then he asked again what I wanted for Christmas. I told him I didn't know and that I didn't really want anything else! :)

I told him I'd get back to him. What's wierd is, I don't take it as a sign that he's not going to ask in December, even though he hasn't mentioned anything at all about this Christmas. He's been asking questions about exactly when my exams are, including what times my two Saturday exams get out, but that's it. The only real indication I have that something is up is that for a few weeks a couple of months ago or so he kept looking something up online. Every time I went over to the computer I'd see the "clear private data" screen because he'd X-ed out of the internet. I finally laughed one day and mentioned this to him, joking that he better not be looking up personal ads! Later on, a commercial for David's Bridal came on. He stopped what he was saying, watched the commercial, then looked back at me and said "you know I wasn't looking up personals, right?". Since then he's been completely mum about the whole thing! He still won't tell me what he was looking up. Once he said it was a surprise for me, another time he said it wasn't. Always a conflicting answer.

Weird... :) And now I have to think of something I want for Christmas!

He is trying to plan something. I think he is trying not to tell you because he wants to surprise you. Good luck!

I love this cite too. I joined last week and I am so happy that I found this cite. It helps me feel like I am not alone in this.

Thank you Blueshoes and naangel! @trugem and naangel: I don't think I could get information out of him no matter how hard I tried! He's always been very good about keeping secrets. I tried again last week to figure out what he was looking up online, but I got nothin'. :)

Darn... too bad I didn't think of this in time to say it! I just thought of what I should have said I wanted for Christmas: him! LOL
