I have 2 kids of my own from a previous relationship, My Fiance doesn’t have any children. I have been thinking of ways to incorporate them into the ceremony so they feel they have a part in our joining as a family. I thought of having both my son & my daughter walking me down the isle (being I am not that close with my father) but I continue to change my mind. I also thought of having them as a bridesmaid and groomsmen (1 for each side).. Kind of would like to do something a little different.. Any & All ideas welcome!!

They could be the ones to give you away. They could walk you down half way. You could do a family unity candle and incorporate them with calling it the joining of new families. I also like your idea of bridemaids and groomsmen and you could do the candle or while they are waiting for you to walk down they could also leave there places and meet you 1/2 way and get back in line.

My daughter is 13 and my son 10. I had forgot about this post sorry it took me so long to reply. I have decided to have my daughter as my maitron of honor & my son will be walking me down the aisle. We are also thinking of doing a sand unity, me, the Fiance and both children. Or possibly doing a unity dance in place of the father daughter dance. There is a country song by Brad Paisley ‘The man he didn’t have to be’ and I would dance with my son & the Fiance with my daughter.
