@Coffee cup: Not a problem, it was getting me down a bit, him being so far away and me being here, and knowing we won't be 'stable' until we were together for good... So these kind of quotes make me feel so much better about things too.
How far away are you from your SO if you don't mind me asking?
You should look up the song "Atlantic" by Thrice. It's really beautiful and about LDRs.
@NehaPrasad92: We're not LDR anymore, you can say we're SDR he lives 2 hors away and we see each other in weekends. We were LDR for a year we were not that far appart but he lived in a secluded place so it was hard for us to see each other.
I can only imagine how hard it's to be appart so long. How often do you see each other?
@Coffee cup: Once every year, I spend the summer with him but we are usually apart for a year-8 months of the year... I'm glad you and him are closer to each other now, must make things a lot easier :)
@zippylef: Gave that song a listen, such a peaceful song. Thank you :)
@NehaPrasad92: DH and I were LD for 2 1/2 years, so I understand. We still go through periods of time separate because he's in the US Air Force. It really does suck, but it's not forever! I loved that song when we were apart.
@zippylef: Oh my, how did the both of you meet? The only military base near Bury/Thetford is Lakenheath...
@NehaPrasad92: Yep. He's at Lakenheath. It's not the only one though, there's Mildenhall and Feltwell too. We went to high school together in the states. I forgot you were the one who was from Bury!
“Together forever, never apart. Maybe in distance but never at heart.”
@zippylef: Aha, forgot about Mildenhall lol! Aw that's so cute though, that you both met in the States before you came over here! :) What a small world lol, I never expected anyone close to Thetford to be on here haha
@Dub D: I love that quote, thank you so much!
really great quote. I am about to be in an LDR (less than 2 months left here in London before I have to go back to California) so this makes me smile :)
This is great!
My fiance is in the UK and I'm here in the US. We've been together 3 years now, and I get to see him in just a few weeks :D
@NehaPrasad92: That is a lovely quote; thank you for sharing. We aren't LDR anymore (yay!) but were for about 2 1/2 yrs.
I love it! (My LDR can only be considered semi-ldr because we're 1.5 hrs away.)
My FH and I are in a LDR as well (US-South Africa). I've loved and thought about this quote throughout our LDR
"Distance is to love as wind is to fire, it extinguishes the weak and inflames the great."
Thank you so much for this quote! So uplifting! My SO and I have been in a LDR for about 8 months out of the 13 total that we have been together. We will likely be in a LDR for another year or two (although we plan to be engaged this fall/winter!) and in a SDR for another year or so...or perhaps no distance at all by that point? We shall see!
@NehaPrasad92: thats a great quote. and I needed to read it! MY FI is in Australia while I'm in South America, so its a 11 hours time difference which makes even taliking difficult. He did propose last time we were together so things are moving in the right direction.
I love this quote. My FI is going to be moving 14 hours away in July for a job. I'm so excited yet terrified all at the same time! We have basically been glued to the hip for 4 years and now he will be away for 8 months. No matter how exciting it is, I still get upset thinking about it! The poem "I Carry Your Heart" by E.E. Cummings really touches me. I think we may put it on something in our wedding.

is not for the fearful, it is for the bold. It's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It's for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don't see it nearly enough.
I found this quote online and it's made me feel much better about my LDR with my SO. He lives in America and I'm in the UK, we've been together almost 2 years. I don't plan on moving over until he finishes school and I've graduated. So it will be a while but it will be worth it.
