This morning, I applied to a position by emailing my resume and cover letter directly to the recruiter per the job ad’s instructions. A few hours later, the recruiter called me around 2:00.
Since I like to screen my calls from unfamiliar numbers, I let it go to voicemail. Once I listened to her voicemail, I called her back. This was literally 5 minutes later. She did not pick up so I left her a voicemail.
She has not returned my call and it’s now 5:36.
Should I call her in the morning? Should I send her an email now stating that I missed her call and had called her back earlier?
Or should I just wait for her to call me back?

Be proactive, for sure!
I’d send her an e-mail tonight, and if I didn’t have any response tomorrow morning, I’d try calling again in the afternoon.

@LadyBlackheart: I would find it annoying if I were her and you pestered me again. You said you left a voicemail. Hopefully it was clear and complete so she could make out your name and contact information. You would be amazed at how many messages I get where I can’t for the life of me understand their name or phone number.
She may very well have been in a meeting or had other things scheduled this afternoon. If she doesn’t call you back by noon your time tomorrow, (is she in the same time zone?) then I would call or email again.

I would give it 24 hours, then e-mail her!
