@highschoolhoneys:  Ha! A little bit smug at times, but way better and more realistic than the original.

” I did adopt a pet. Twice. It was a horrible decision and contradicts her first idea of getting a passport (which I assume would be to travel, not just to have another form of identification). My advice? Don’t adopt anything until you’re married and have ample arrangements for times when you can’t bring them with you.”

I laughed SO FREAKING HARD when I read that!

This girl is HILARIOUS!

@Truffle-hunter:  I’m assuming the meant to write “condescending”. I noticed that, too!

@highschoolhoneys:  I hated the original blog! Made me really infuriated. You should be able to do whatever you want when you’re an adult! If you made a bad decision and end up in divorce, at least you don’t have a hideous tattoo you got when you were 18 😛

So much better than the original!

Also apparently older couples (60+) are at an all time high for divorce rates. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t? I’d rather be grinning from ear to ear going down the aisle than wrinkling from ear to ear 😉

@BrandNewBride:  Same here! I jumped the gun and adopted my cat when I was single and moving around, and I had to spend a pretty penny transporting him/accomodating him everywhere. This blogger definitely has a point. Also, I assume the original blogger assumes that all those under 23 have unlimited funds b/c random travel and not working to do Peace Corps is NOT cheap.

@highschoolhoneys:  Also, in the original blog, what if you’ve done everything you want before 23? ?? I DID adopt a pet, my fiance and I have 2 cats we found, and a dog I bought 2 years ago. We have lizards and fish, and live in a cute little apartment. We don’t have tattoos because why would we unless we wanted one…?, we both have very good jobs, and we’ve lived together for a year now. We will be 23 when we get married, and honestly I couldn’t imagine waiting any longer than that!

@paula1248:  +1

@highschoolhoneys:  I think the only thing I’d disagree with her about (and this is just for me personally) would be the tattoos. I have one already; got it when I was just about to turn 19 too. It has very deep personal meaning for me. I’ve had it for almost 7 years now and I have never regretted it at all. If I did get a matching tattoo with FI it would have to have a very very deep personal meaning to me.

I do think her post was way better than the original though. It was a bit preachy or smug at times, but it was much better written and was pretty funny at points.

@McBezel:  But have you ever eaten an entier box/packet of Ferrerio Rochet chocolates? They are made by the same company so it totally counts 😛

The origional I found meh, the response was better.

I eat Nutella out of the jar, I’m 27, I suppose I’m a lost cause.

@Truffle-hunter:  @BrandNewBride:  Rest assured, ladies, she wrote “condeming,” not “condoning.” (I loved the response so much, I had to double check for typos/grammatical errors! Can you tell my first degree was in technical writing? Haha.)
