I've been sort of PMS-y and grouchy this week, and had an insane work schedule on top of that. My SO's bday is Friday, and his parents will be in town. They come the same weekend every year and they take us to the opera. This has been planned for, oh, 2 months now... and shortly thereafter, he decided he wanted to see this comedy show tonight and bought tickets. Well about a week ago, his friend who will be moving to NYC from Boston in the next few months calls up and says he wants to stay with us. Mind you, we wouldn't be home until at least midnight after the opera, his parents want to have brunch with us in Brooklyn Sat morning, and his parents' friends invited us to dinner way out in Queens Saturday night. He says to his buddy - sure you can stay with us! And of course our apartment is a disaster. So despite having to work till 9PM and spending a day in South Jersey for work, who has to clean the apt while he plays basketball and hangs out w/his buddies??? Me. Naturally, I was kinda pissed and although I didn't outright say anything, I know he knows I was unhappy out it. He does this often - he can't seem to think about planning things logically before he agrees to do something and almost never asks me first. In any case, I got home around 7 from Jersey last night and before I could even get my coat off, he runs into the living room (which you can't really see into from our front door) and he hands me a big boquet of flowers!

As much as he has been driving me nuts lately, I know he is a wonderful man! It's hard sometimes to remind myself how great he really is, and that I am lucky to have snagged him. But my heart melted yet again at the sight of the flowers.... and as much as I have been kevetching about his feet dragging on this proposal business, I know he is there is in his head and part of my anxiety about it stems from being so happy with him that I want to his wife already!!

Have any other ladies in waiting had any sweet moments with their men lately?

I can tell you I have been sincerely annoyed with him recently, but when I think about everything he does for me... I feel like an ass.  Sometimes he acts helpless about cooking, like wanting a grilled cheese... and I get irritated but I do it anyways.

But then I think about everything he's done for ME.  One of the things that was most important, over the summer I went to a conference with him out of state.  My grandfather passed away that same night.  When I found out, he was absolutely amazing.  He listened, he talked, and he comforted.

I guess I get annoyed with the day to day things here and there... but when it comes down to it, my BF is my rock.  He is there for me and strong when I need someone to be strong.  When I actually have a crisis and it's not a PMS rage, he somehow makes everything right.

On top of that, he planned an AMAZING birthday, and I honestly look forward to going home to him every night.  I still have the flowers at work I got delivered on Monday, and it's a constant reminder this week of his thoughtfulness.  I feel myself having shortcomings because I should be able to do these silly things in return.

Totally. Last Monday morning I was being a complete butt towards him.I guess because it wasn't "the magical weekend ". I was short with him all day via text and email. When I got home from work that night, I was shocked to see a candlelite picnic in the middle of the living room floor. I felt like a fool. It was then that I realized that I just need to relax and enjoy the moment and the ring will eventually come.

He cleaned the entire house (includding mopping!) after work on Tuesday, so when I came home everything was beautiful. He surprised me with a cooked dinner when I came home after work on Wednesday. And then he just does little thoughtful things everyday. Gosh, I love that man!
