Ok, so I posted a few weeks ago about how I had put a deposit on a dress at Alfred Angelo that I loved. When I tried it on in the store, I tried on 5 dresses and that was the one I liked the most. I put a deposit that very day even though I had two more dress appointments lined up, thinking I was going to cancel those. I went back a week later with my bridesmaids to look at bridesmaid dresses for them and ended up trying on my dress and showing them. They all thought it was pretty but I didn’t get the reaction I thought I would. They were kind of deer in headlights. I took a few pics of myself in it and when I got home I kept dissecting how I looked in it, there were things I wasn’t crazy about and definately started doubting my decision. I kept one of my other dress appointments and went this morning with just my sister (also my maid of honor). I ended up falling absolutely in love with a dress. This one blows the other one out of the water in my opinion and I know I don’t want to look any further. It is the Maggie Sottero Priscilla. It compliments my figure extremely well and has everything I could ever want in a dress. The other dress, while lovely was an impulsive decision because I thought it was the best on me at that time. Now i have a dillema. The Alfred Angelo has a non-refundable deposit and the dress would be in by April. If I decided to forfeit the deposit and go with the Maggie it will take 6 months to come in (cutting it very close to my September wedding) but will be in on time and have enought time for alterations. I would have to order this week though and this dress is about double what the other one is. I felt like I made an impulsive decision and I’m about to lose a deposit because of it. The Maggie is my dream dress but is pretty expensive. Just need a little advice…

If you can handle losing the deposit and you are 100% sure that it is the dress you want then do it…just if you do STOP looking at dresses haha

The deposit was about $400 which isn’t too bad but I still feel guilty. I’m going back to Alfred Angelo to try on a dresses that are similar to the priscilla hoping that I will find one I love and won’t have to change my mind. If I don’t, I’m prepared to walk away from the previous dress. After which, I am DONE with dress shopping lol

Both dresses are soo beautiful. Maybe you need to go back and try on your first dress again by yourself (without your bridesmaids opinions/reactions) and see how you feel about it again. See if you can see what made you love it in the first place and if anything was “wrong” with it or you just felt that way because of your bridesmaids reaction. If you still feel that way, then walk away and get the Priscilla In the end, it’s YOUR wedding and YOUR reaction that matters and I’m sure everyone will love your dress regardless of which you choose.

See how you feel when you have the 1st dress on. You may realize you put that deposit down for a reason!! But if you try it on and still feel like that second one is “the one” then i say order it now, you dont want to be thinking about how you wish you had gotten the other dress while you are getting ready for your wedding day or when you look back in pictures. $400 is better then the price of the entire dress….. Good Luck, do what you feel in your heart

Thank you ladies, I want to give the first dress the benefit of the doubt and try it on with a few styles similar to the priscilla and weigh my options. If I can’t shake the feeling, I’ll go with the Maggie Sottero. I’m hoping this will clear my conscience about the whole thing and I can be satisfied with my decision.

If you end up changing your mind could you use the money for a veil at the store so you dont lose it/feel guilty? 🙂
