I am going to do this too!
Do you have pets? We are taking a photo of our 2 dogs with a sign that says "thank you" and then the in lieu of message.
We are planning to lay them flat as if they are a part of the place setting, probably at the top or top left corner. They will not be a "tent sign" or anything, so they won't take from anything else on the table.
But... I do think it's overkill to put one at every place setting.
Although I am also looking for a better idea. I will brainstorm. If I come up with anything else, I will let you know!
And... yes, a poster would be waaaay easier than printing out 175 cards, but I think it might be weird.. and what if people don't see it?
Hmmmm...
What a cute idea! I hadn't thought of taking pictures of our pets! Yes, let me know what you come up with. Part of my problem is that I'm having someone from Etsy do a lot of my stationery, so I'm afraid if I DIY these they might look funny at the table - as in uncoordinated. Aargh! I do agree that the poster might be missed...unless I put it on the escort card table. But we already are having a seating chart poster so I think it will be too poster-y lol!!! Geez....
I think maybe a 8x10 nicely framed pic of your pet and then a idential frame stating that you donated could work. Place it in a centralized location so that you know all or at least most of your guests will see it.
gocubbies yoiu are in illinois too? where? I'm (unfortunately) in the quad cities- we're getting married at starved rock lodge:)
Wow! that is beautiful!! We're in the Champaign-Urbana area.
Tonya2010, Good idea about the photo frame! We are have a buffet style dinner so that might work well for us.
kellyrwn, maybe you could do the frames by the guestbook??
I just looked around online and noticed that if you donate with ASPCA the send you free wedding placecard/tent cards for each guest to indicate your donation. They send you one for every guest regardless of your donation amount - pretty cool!
Duh, I made a post last week and check out one of the Bees' responses, it has a super cute pic

This is such a great idea, to make a donation in lieu of giving each guest a gift they will either forget on the table, or throw away anyway!
Thanks, I'll be sure to look into this for my wedding :)

We are planning to make Humane Society donations and leave an "in lieu of favors note for our guests. Where would you place these? My problem with a sign on the table is that things are getting a bit crowded between escort cards and table numbers. Should I have a poster made to place by reception entrance? Any ideas or anyone done this before?
