Well, I checked the 1-year plus category but it was really like 8 months...But that was only bc when he originally told me his time line for getting engaged, I was like, Honey, I hear what youre saying and I respect it but....NO. HA! So he picked up the pace a little bit for my sanity (and probably his, seeing as how I think if he endured ONE more engagement fight, it would've been the end of it all :)....
I picked +1 years because we picked the ring 2 years before he proposed but it wasn't until the last 8 months where I was in dire straights waiting!!!
I picked the one year category, but I think it was a little less than that. We started talking seriously about wedding planning and details in the summer/early fall of 2007. He proposed in April 2008 (although I think he picked out the ring in October '07) and we got married in May 2009. FWIW, my husband later told me that he had ordered the ring that fall (when I was getting really impatient), but he was in the process of paying for it! I kinda felt bad when I realized I was giving him a hard time while he busted his butt to pay for my ring. ;)
i picked 3-6 months... we started living together in april after 2+ years of long distance and we started talking about marriage pretty much right away! he proposed in july, about 2-3 weeks after i picked out a ring!
I picked nothing. Maybe my situation is sort of strange, but I don't feel that I was ever really "waiting." FI said that he was going to marry me the first summer we met. He proposed....5 years later. We always knew that we were going to get married, moved in together after college, and I figured engagement was the next logical step, but I was happy with where we were at and never "waiting" for him to propose. When he did, I was totally surprised :op
We started talking about marriage pretty early on... maybe like 6 months into our relationship? But I knew I wasn't ready to be engaged at that point in my life. We were together 2.5+ years before he actually popped the question (I was surprised even though we had talked about it here and there). We'll have been together 4.5 years when we officially tie the knot! :)
I picked the 3-6 months category...we got engaged a year and 2 months after dating. We started talking about getting married about 3 months after we had been dating (we both knew right away) but wanted to be together at least a year before we got engaged.
We went shopping for rings at the end of Feb. and he proposed May 1st. :) When we get married, we will have been together a little over 2 years.
I picked a 1 year + because we had always talked about it, since like a month into dating. But he actually bought the ring 3 months after we first started looking at rings, and proposed 5 months later. We were together for 2 years when he proposed.
We discussed it 2 and a half years back, I've been happy to wait up until the past year as I've started to feel impatient. So yeah...still waiting...
