have you downloaded the knot app? I’m using it with my pre planning. Also check out the DIY boards on here. They have some planning spreadsheets that you can download or requeThea copy from the member.

A Practical Wedding has great spreadsheets and the book is the only planning book I read. It is WONDERFUL! Enjoy this special time – try not to burn yourself out on wedding stuff early on, keep it fun and stress-free!

@JJSoon2bwife14:  I think there are three essential things to work on when you start planning a wedding:

1) Budget.  Looks like you’ve got that.  Yay!

2) Concept & Priorities.  Talk with your FI about what kind of wedding you want to have, what items are high priority, and what items you are willing to sacrafice on.  For example, is your top priority that you want to have everyone you love there?  Or do you want it to be intimate and small?  Is a top priority that it feel like a big party?  Or that it be a religious ceremony?  Etc.

3) Guest List.  Get writing yoru guest list.  Once you see the people who you want to include, it may influence you to make adjustments to the items above.

After that, work on the venue since that’s pretty much the biggest decision you need to make and will determine the date, which pretty much everything else depends on.  If you’re looking for a great resource, I suggest the book “A Practical Wedding” by Meg Keene.

Once we started planning I knew the church I wanted and booked last summer in June. I knew my guest list was about 75 so I venue shopped and found a place I loved in July and booked it also. I ordered my dress last December and everything else has fallen into place after that. Its been a pretty easy process so far since I’ve been working at it since last year. I had the knot app and although its helpful I found I didn’t need it as much as I thought I would. Good luck and happy planning. Don’t stress it really is a fun and beautiful time in your life. Enjoy it 🙂

@JJSoon2bwife14:  Love the old courthouse, but why would anyone ruin it by using colored lighting? To me, that looks tacky (sorry if I hurt anyone’s feelings!). Regular mood lighting (so not too bright and not colored) would look amazing at that venue. To me it looks spectacular.
