A week without SO :(

No advice or ideas, but I can commiserate–my DH has a job over the summer(s) which takes him away from us (DD and I)–we’re lucky if we see him one day a week. For instance, today he was supposed to be home with us on his day off, but things took a turn for the worse back at work, so he spent a total of 5 hours here before heading back to straighten things out. Luckily, however, his contract comes to an end next Tuesday, so we’re counting down the days!

I try to immerse myself in doing things with our daughter, coffee with my girlfriend(s) and throw myself into work… the days go by pretty quickly, it seems. Hang in there!

In two years of living together, we have spent three nights apart, and oh they were the worst few days!!!  Luckily, I was the one away on work, so I kept busy 🙂  But, in the rare case I have a night where my FI is out, I watch all the shows he hates!!  Anything your SO doesn’t like to do or watch that you do?!

@sparklebow:  just re read my last response and wow! Ipad autocorrect is killing me lol

i agree, the first few days are the hardest, but as the week goes on it’ll get easier especially bc they get home sooner 😛 my cat is an attention whore And definitely likes to make me work. She’s a little trouble maker, but she’s so cute , I just love her.

one week or three, it stills sucks no matter what 😛 he’s been doing this since feb, so it’s a little more normal, but always sad when he does.

like I said, just keep busy, and it’ll seem like no time 🙂

@sparklebow:  We did the LDR thing for years when we first got together and he’s had this summer gig since even before then (which is over 12½ years ago), so it’s nothing new… but, it doesn’t really get any easier, lol. You just kind of learn to deal with it… plus, it makes you appreciate each other more when the other half is around, I think. ;] Anyway, Tuesday can’t come quickly enough–especially given the short visit, today. It was a tease.

@sparklebow:  My SO went away for work on Friday and won’t be home until Friday afternoon.  We have never been apart for more than 4 days (he went away for work for 4 days twice) in the 9 years we’ve been together.

We miss each other like crazy. I can’t imagine waiting another 4 days to see him. It sucks.

I’ve been filling my time with friends and my bunny rabbits, but I still feel lonely.  I miss him a bunch. I haven’t had fun with him being away for so long. I thought I was tough and cool about being away from him, but nope. Apparently a few days is my limit. I really started missing him badly today.

@sparklebow:  He hates talking on the phone,  but we’ve been texting and talking 10 mins a day or so. He’s only 2 hrs away, but I can’t visit him bc of obligations I have in town. SO is the project manager of hardscaping business, so he needs to be on site orchestrating everything and keeping people on track.

Thank god he’ll be home Friday. I have no clue how military spouses can handle their SO leaving for months at a time. They amaze me.

SO was missing me the day he left. I didn’t start actually missing him until yesterday. Now I reaaallly miss him. I called him earlier just to hear his voice in his voicemail recording! He’s usually the lovey dovey sappy one, not me. I wore his hoodie today out of loneliness,  lol. I am turning into a puddle of sappiness. If I run and leap into his arms when he gets home, I’m disowning myself.
