I don't know about NYC or brooklyn, but if you do a search for garment bags on ebay, there are quite a few choices that are reasonably priced.
thanks, but i'd like purchase one in person as i need it relatively quickly to be able to transport my gown in the next week. any other thoughts?
I got mine on amazon.com. Most tailors have them to purchase as well.

i bought my dress at a sample and was not given a real dress bag for it. it's been hanging out at my mom's place in NJ so it's out of FH's sight, but i need to bring it back to brooklyn for several reasons - primarily to start looking into seamstresses for alterations. does anyone know where i can buy a good (not see-through) dress garment bag in NYC or brooklyn?
