I’m having 4 Bridesmaid or Best Man and 2 Maid/Matron of Honor and some of them are not AA. It dosen’t bother me because these are my closest GF’s. A few people have asked me why I don’t have more AA in my bridal party and it did bother me a bit. Do any of you have this issue?

Why is it anyone’s business what color your friends are? Just when I thought I’d heard everything on this site…

My bridal party will be multicultural and no one has said anything about it. But even in the AA community there are closed minded people, you just have ignore them.

@mzlouis2b: I agree with you. A few are from the south and I’m a cali girl. I grew up with all different races. Either way it’s my special day..

One of my bridal party will be AA but she is so light, she often gets mistaken for being white. My other two Bridesmaid or Best Man potentials are PR and Portuguese. It doesn’t bother me because these are my friends I grew up with- I didn’t pick them because of race. Not sure why anyone would even care.

Crazy that someone would actually ask you that! Our wedding party is multicultural, both groomsmen and bridesmaids. Sometimes ignorance and stupidity should be ignored. I could careless who thinks anything of my bridal party and my friends.

One of my BMs is Japanese. I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t love her to pieces!

Wow, I read AA and thought you meant Alcoholics anonymous, like people wanna know why don’t you have more support from members as your BMs. LOL, I must be tired. Anyway, yeah it’s all about who you want up there with you! 🙂

I’ve got 2 AA, 1 Indian, 1 caucasian, 1 AA that looks biracial. My bunch is a range of gorgeous women. Have the women that you love surrounding you and pray for the people that don’t understand that its 2011, not 1911.

I can’t believe someone was ignorant enough to ask that. I would have said “I don’t pick my friends by the color of their skin.”

People are stupid.
My Maid/Matron of Honor and two of my bridesmaids (my sisters) are black and the other two are white.
No big deal.
