I'll start even though I'm not engaged to get this party started :D....
1. No wedding date, I'm still in the preengagement stages...
2. Nope no answers
3. we've been dating for 18 months and two days :D
4. we'll be staying as inexpensive as possible because we have huge bills
5. we are diy'g probably the entire thing except the venue...

I'll join, even though I am probably a looong way away from engagement. :(
1. Some day in the future.
2. It will probably be just long enough.
3. Four years (by my watch) in a week! 4.5 by his... I don't know when.
4. That will be figured once I have a job. I can't see it being terribly expensive.
5. I'm not certain. Probably a lot, it seems more personal to do it that way.

2. how long was your engagement - not "officially" engaged, but I'm guessing it will be at least a year long engagement

4. what budget are you trying to stay within - since we're also buying a house while planning this wedding, our wedding budget is hopefully sticking between $10,000 and $15,000.
5. and how much stuff are you diy'g? - As much as I can fit into my schedule. I know for sure I'm designing the entire wedding, but I may not have time to actually make everything. I'll likely DIY 50-60% of the wedding
6. what part of the country are you located in?! - San Francisco Bay Area

No idea...but we are leaving for Jamaica on December 20th

I am not a party to planning but from what I have managed to pull out of the FI...about 30K including airline tickets

@jabride: i didn't know that you didn't know the wedding date either?! i'd seriously be going bonkers right now!!
@crebre...I am so busy at work these days that I don't think about it most of the time...LOL! I drove myself so crazy the first couple of months trying to get him to tell me details that I think I wore myself out 
1. what's your wedding date - December 4, 1995. Hubby and I are renewing our vows on November 27, 2010 on the eve of our 15th wedding anniversary.
2. how long was your engagement. So long ago I don't remember. HA! HA!
3. how long have you been dating. We dated for 3 years before we got married.
4. what budget are you trying to stay within. Hubby says $20,000 but I think that is wishful thinking.
5. and how much stuff are you diy'g? Not a damn thing . . . don't have the patience, the creativity or the time. . .Buying stuff or paying for other people's DIY stuff is modern form of DIY and that should count for something.

1. what's your wedding date: 12/22/09 woo hoo! 18 more days.. I am getting married at the city hall in NYC. and then a bigger one in a year or 2 down in NC.

@wifey: 18 days how awesome?! are y'all having a dinner or something like that afterwards? i think it's cool and romantic that y'all are going to the nyc city hall!! do y'all have a honeymoon planned?

1. what's your wedding date: i was told sometime after i finish grad school so maybe in 2011?!
2. how long was your engagement: it'll be short, 3-6 months [i know!]
3. how long have you been dating; almost 5 years, all long distance
4. what budget are you trying to stay within: i'm hoping to have $15,000 saved up by the time we get married
5. and how much stuff are you diy'g?: probably about 80%. i suck at estimating but i'm doing A TON: all stationary: save the dates, invites, programs, thank you cards, escort cards, etc, decorations, centerpieces, and hopefully personal flowers
6. what part of the country are you located in?!: i'm in the bay area. california baby!
@crebre I am so excited! Well since its so close to Christmas and the families will be together we do not have anything planned at the moment for afterwards. So we may wing it 
As far as a honeymoon we want to go to Puerto Rico after the bigger wedding so for now I have 2 comped rooms at Harrah's Casino in Atlantic City! So after the wedding and the pics we are going down for 2 nights and will be back by Christmas Eve.
FYI I still do not know what I am doing with my hair for my wedding. I will be getting micros and need any suggestions please!
@JamaicaBride - That is truly romantic that your SO has planned the entire wedding. Congrats and can't wait to see the pictures.
@crebre & 91011...we will be coming back on Christmas Eve and everyone keeps telling me I am going to be blown away. I can't wait to see everything and I am hoping that the pictures turn out excellent. I know FI has expensive tastes so I know everything will be top notch. I am so happy...16 days...I am getting my hair braided this Sunday so the pain will have a couple of weeks to subside =)
@wifey: definitely check the natural hair post a bit further down in the AA board... I think it's so cool that y'all are getting married so close to christmas (i'd LOVE a christmas wedding)... and two nights in atlantic city sounds awesome and fun!!!
@ja: girl you better come back with pictures. i'd currently be passing out lol!!!! btw will we finally get the big reveal on your ring when you come back?!

@crebre...yes...I will finally be able to show off my babies =) I think FI made a weird request by asking me to wait until I have both rings...but he did design them as a set...and he really does't ask for much...so I don't mind waiting to show them off.
My only request when FI asked me about my dream wedding was top of the line videography and photography since it will just be the two of us.

Can I just start by saying how glad I am to have found this thread. I've been on Bee for a few months but only discovered the AA thread last night. I have natural hair and you cannot find pictures anywhere that show my kind of hair in different styles. Luckily, I found a good hair dresser who specializes, but it's a shame that there are many tools out there for us.
Here are my answers:

2. how long was your engagement: will be about 13.5 months by the time we're married
3. how long have you been dating: 4 years
4. what budget are you trying to stay within: $45K
5. and how much stuff are you diy'g?: I will make some BM gifts to save a little money and to make it more personal. And I don't know if I can take credit for the following, but I will design menu and placecards online to be ordered, just like our invitations
6. what part of the country are you located in?!: We getting ready to re-locate to New England

@crebre: We're getting married in upstate NY with our ceremony at a chapel and reception at a state park, which means we won't really need to spend a lot on decorations or diy since both venues are so naturally beautiful.
And congrats to you on your year and a half anniversary a little bit ago!!

@golden: thanks!! it was quite fun :D i think we both worked (bleh)... i love celebrating our dateversaries... i'm pretty sure whenever he pops the question i'll celebrate the engagement date a versaries.. lmao he may want to do it on the 1st of some month so that the days etc remain the same.
