@mimosa...I love, love, love Pantene for Relaxed and Natural hair. I use that and then I use Olive Oil daily moisturizing cream.
I forgot about pantene! I love the Olive Oil products, they work really well.
I Love the Pantene too! My old school favorite is Cream of Nature.
Just to clarify, when I said Mixed Chicks, I was referring the hair products line lol.
I use the Pantene Relaxed/Natural line. I was using Creme of nature, but I decided to give the Pantene a try.
I am a convert! My fingers went through my hair like fssh! It only really dries out my hair post-shampoo if I used the anti-dandruff formula. I don't like my hair to be too oily, so I alternate a leave in conditioner with the Pantene oil moisturizer.
I use a doo gro oil (the one without mineral oil) and deep conditioner as well.
I have a dry scalp, so I tend to use shampoos with Tree Tea Oil, and I like the tingly feeling! Recently I've been using good old Suave sleek conditioner and shampoo or Cantu shea butter conditioner and shampoo becasue it smells so good. Carol Daughters rocks by the way, just a little expensive.
I am a shampoo floater lol The conditioner is what really matters to me I am currently using silcone
I mainly conditioner wash with cheapie conditioners like VO5 or a cleansing conditioner called Hair One. It may sound weird but it keeps my hair from drying out and it actually does clean your hair too. Once a month I wash with Creme of Nature Detangling poo, or I clarify using Nexxus Aloe Rid if I feel too much build-up on my hair. I learned these haircare techniques along with many other great hair techniques from
keepitsimplesista.blogspot.com and hairliciousinc.com. These two sites helped me to grow my dry/fine AA hair long and healthy. Please check them out when you get a chance!
On my AA clients, I use Redken's Smooth Down or Real Control, anything Mazani or Ojon's Ultra Hydrating. Works like a charm!
Keracare hydrating detangling shampoo, keracare humecto creme conditioner and ORS (organic root stimulator) replenishing pak which also comes in a bottle!!! I leave the ORS on my hair for HOURS and my hair just drinks it up. love it!
Aveda Damage Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner has been amazing on my relaxed hair!
@Jenn...just out of curiosity...do you work with natural AA hair or just relaxed? I ask b/c I had a stylist who happened to be white who could cut my hair like no other when it was chemically relaxed. However, she couldn't do a thing with it once I went natural=) I wasn't offended b/c I know plenty of AA stylists who can't work with natural hair.
i am a naturally curly girl so i mainly use deva products no poo and one condition. i only wash my hair once per week at the most. my hair also gets very dry, and i find the deva one condition not heavy enough, but i know they came out with a deep conditioner that is probably better, though costs twice as much. i like the organixx line of conditioners though and i would recommend the "nourish" conditioner or the "soft and silky" conditioner for dry thirsty hair. the mixed chicks line is supposed to be good as well. i would recommend visiting naturallycurly.com for great advice and product recommendations!
I second the Keracare products for blow outs but I use hairveda when I staying au natural. www.hairveda.com
I use Head and Shoulders Shampoo (I have flaky scalp) and Herbal Essescence Totally Twisted with a dap of Shea butter (natural curls here)
Nexxus in hot weather, Motions in cold. I have very thick, long, relaxed permed hair for reference.
Hair One (Olive Oil). You can get it at Sally's. It's sulfate-free and very moisturizing.
I have locs and one of the best shampoos is one that i make on my own using Dr. Bonners Peppermint. I found the receipe on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DZOubmS2jM and following this using a Apple Cider Vinger Rinse gives me great results.
I've used Cream of Nature since I was a young teen and their new herbal line is good,
Can't beat cheap ass V05 @ 99 cents.
Paul Mitchell Tea Tree is fab and I it love because my scalp is prone to flakes.
Organic Roots Aloe shampoo is wonderful and I agree with the other poster Organic Root Stimulator Replenishing pak is the business!!! I just love the smell and how it leaves my hair. I slather it on, put on heating cap and luxuriate.
Thru the years I have tired soooo many shampoos but the above are just a handful of old reliable staples through the years.
@Regina Phalange: Which products do you use?
I use Tui and I tried the Hair Milk shampoo and conditioner but it left my hair feeling kinda dry. My curls were defined more with the hair milk shampoo and conditioner and it felt clean.
Walgreen has a FABulous conditioner called BioInfusion Professional Rosemary Mint Conditioner Rosemary Mint. Its awesome. I assume the shampoo is great to but I haven't used it yet.
I also tried Organix Hydrating Teatree which is also great
@trugem: I use the Black Vanilla Herbal Shampoo, which is actually meant for dry/damaged hair, and the Khoret Amen Hair Smoothie for conditioner. If I'm going for a natural style I'll use the Khoret Amen leave-in conditioner instead of the hair smoothe.

Hey ladies, I think I need to switch up my shampoo and conditioner. What is your fav shampoo and conditioner? I'm also thinking of adding a hot oil treatment.
