Mr TTR is an awesome husband… but he still is a man (with a boy lurking still within)
And as such, he is prone to being both an amazing romantic man… who can hit it out of the park sometimes… and at othertimes … well he’s just a silly boy at heart.
Here is an example from this week… both which made me smile.
HITS IT OUT OF THE PARK
He surprised me with Flowers. It was super sweet & a total WOW unexpected moment.
Mr TTR is a sweet guy, but he isn’t one for what he calls “Hallmark Holidays”… occasions where one expects a Card, Flowers, Chocolates, Balloons etc… that doesn’t mean he won’t comply at times and catch me off guard (such as Valentines, My Birthday, Mother’s Day etc). Just that it isn’t the norm for him, so I don’t expect such gestures.
Instead, more often than not he chooses to honour my “girlie girl” with such touching things when I least expect them.
(Which by his account therefore mean more)
He might be right… I’m not sure. What I do know was earlier this week he went out to run some very mundane errands and came home with these…

SILLY BOY MOMENT
At the same time… there is that “mischevious little boy” element within Mr TTR that men just have.
Tonight I’m watching “Say Yes To The Dress – Atlanta” and Mr TTR comes into the room, catches a Bride on the Tv, and says
“oh gosh that gal looks awful in that dress… cause she has a BIG Butt. She needs to find another dress”
Now this is coming from a guy who thinks that SY2TD is a ridiculous show to begin with… and cannot understand why I find satisfaction in watching “such nonsense” (his words)
(I try to tell him it appeals to my girlie-girl, but he can’t fathom why a smart gal like me would be so enthralled some “semi reality tv show”) *eye roll*
And consequently he’d never be caught watching it…
Anyhow… I look at him, as he is standing in front of the Tv clearly he’s focussed in on this Bride on the screen
And after a moment of dead silence… I say the obvious (not in a mean way, but with a chuckle, and a touch of humour / sarcasm in my voice)
“Lol, you think she’s got a BIG Butt ? Well honey she is a lot smaller than me, so if her Butt is big what is mine ?”
And he winks at me and says…
“Cute… Honey you have a cute butt. Yup, you are my sugar butt”
And then walks out of the room leaving me smiling & laughing
Good catch, Mr TTR… lol
(and ya probably a smart move leaving the scene before my mood changes)
I mean really how can anyone get peeved at that reply ?
It was hysterical… my old 50+ year old butt, that is far from attractive compared to the young women on SY2TD was the hit of the evening at our house !!
Great recovery… and just goes to show you that boys / men no matter their age can make mistakes (that old rule, never make comments about a woman’s body / shape / weight) but sometimes with age and maturity, they also can turn it all around and make it a positive.
That’s my man… and WHY I love him so, everyday high or low is a wonderful, memorable adventure.
