Catholic Bees, help meee! I need to plan out my wedding mass music within the next 24 hours! I can’t believe I overlooked this, because I have sung and cantored in church so many times and it’s so dear to my heart, but I’ve just been so dang swamped that I haven’t had the head space to think about it, and I just realized I HAVE to meet with my musicians this weekend. Please send resources, example masses that you think are really beautiful, websites that you think might help me find the music I and my fiancé would like, ceremony planner-outers… anything that helped you!

I can tell you that I will have two singers and one absolutely excellent pianist, and that the David Haas song “You Are Mine” is one of my absolute favorites and will definitely make an appearance.

Thanks so much for any suggestions and help!!

GVivster: The musicians provided us a list of diosese approved music. I looked them all up, and FI and I chose the ones we liked. Wish I could help more!

We did Canon in D and Jesu, Joy of Mans Desiring for the entrance, Make Me a Channel of Your Peace for the offertory, and… I can’t remember the rest. 🙁 I think maybe Trumpet Voluntary for the recessional?

The church that my brother got married at also gave him a list of diocese approved music. The only song they had that wasn’t on that list had to be approved by the priest, and that was “How Beautiful” by Twila Paris that I sang during communion.
http://www.catholicweddinghelp.com/topics/catholic-wedding-music-list.htm has a list of songs that you can look up to see if you like any of them.

Seating of the parents; On this day Oh Beautful mother (my grandparents wedding song)
Processional; Clair De Lune/ Pachabels’ Cannon
I would suggest using David Haas for your unity candle/sand song as it’s very appropriate, and it sounds like your favorite.
Offetory- Skipping, another moving part and I don’t want to worry about it
Eucharist; Ava Maria
Processional; Spring from the Four Seasons Suite
I think there is a site called “Catholic Wedding Help” where we got our suggestions.

For Offetory we did “We Come to Your Feast”
Communion was “Take Me as I Am”
Presentation of roses to Mary was Ave Maria
Prelude music was “The Prayer” (amazing if you have male and female cantors), The Lord’s Prayer, and Litany of the Saints
