Congratulations! You must be sooo excited, even if you are a bit sad about the big wedding. I'm with you on the not spending that kind of money, although I'm aware that others feel differently. The way I figure it, if it doesn't feel 100% right to spend that kind of cash on your party, then there are multiple other practical ways to use the money!

We just changed our wedding (had to move it back instead of closer) because it seemed to be taking on a life of its own too! And I agree that it seems sad to give up all the planning but I realize it'll be worth it. And congratulations, I think it'll be great!

That is so awesome! I can imagine how it can become so overwhelming! I hope that if my time to plan a wedding ever comes I will make a similar choice! Congrats!!

I think you're making a very wise decision - but I'm practical like that! I would wear the dress anyway at least for the ceremony, then change to go for dinner/partying/whatever you're doing after. It's so beautiful, why not wear it?

I wish we could go to vegas. I would Give anything to go now! If I could get my 25% deposit back from our vegas I would take it and fly to vegas tomorrow!

You girls are so awesome! Thanks so so much! I am getting really excited the more things fall into place. My BM and I went last night and got both of us a dress which both fit great!! SO lucky to have that happen!!!

Shhhhhhhh but we decided since we are already going to be in Vegas this weekend for a little trip the FI and I decided to just go head and get hitched. The edding was taking on a life of its own and the cost started growing and growing. Well yesterday we finally reach our goal and had all the money for the wedding saved. I looked at that 10k and thought of it only going to a party and kind of freaked. So tonight we decided its just more practical to do this. I am flying my bff and dad out this weekend his parents and bro are meeting us and we will be good to go! I am really excited but really sad about letting my wedding go and having to sell my dress that I just got in a week ago but o well. My BM and I are going to Wichita tomorrow and get a dress for me and a dress and shoes for her
