I love the Bee, but after spending some time here, I still don’t understand all the acronyms I see!!!! It’s like my life is plagued with acronyms, at work, at school and now on the Bee! What’s a girl to do? I am on a mission to find out what they mean.
I think I have figured out FSIL (Future Sister in Law)
But for the life of me what does SO mean? It usually refers to a guy, and as I am writing this I realize it stands for Significant Other. (DUH).
But then there’s DH which for some reason I always think means Dear Husband. I am pretty sure that’s not it. Or FI, short for fiance?
If you’ve got these acronyms mastered than help a bee out! I am sure there are a few of us who don’t always know what others are talking about 🙂
What do the acronyms you use stand for?

Yeah! Great post! I’m so with you on this one… haha

You got it dear 🙂 DH=dear husband and FI=Fiance (future intended)

I think this is why I don’t care for the pregnancy/TTC (trying to conceive) boards: I never understand what’s being said, i don’t care to look up the acronyms, and it doesn’t really concern me anyway.

@mrsqueenb: It gets confusing with all the terms at times. And some sound perfectly awful until you know what they mean! BM and STD mean something very different outside of the bridal world where they’re bridesmaid and save the date!
You can try googling an acronym and if all else fails, just ask, and a friendly Bee will tell you

The only time I’m ever really confused is when I’m on the TTC boards. But I enjoy checking up on the progress of those bees from time to time, so I’m slowly starting to understand their lingo without having to look everything up haha.

@maudemaisha: Very helpful, I didn’t know that existed! Thanks 🙂
@Cappugcino: I know right? The STD one still gets me…why would they be talking about health issues here….

I tend not to use acronyms purely because not everyone understands them.

There was a few I couldn’t figure out on the TTC boards but usually I can figure it out!

For the first day or so that I was on the boards, I had the acronym page open for quick referrals. Good thing I read that Newbee thread or else I would have been so lost!
