Have you blocked rooms at a specific hotel? If not, you might want to consider it (you never know what other things are going on in your town at the same time) but either way, just put on the card the name of the hotel, address and phone number. No prices, they can call to ask that.
It is tacky to mention money anywhere on STDs or invites, but you can mention the room cost on your wedding website if you are having one, and direct guests to that on the STD. Just a phone number of the hotels, the names of the hotels and the dates that the bloc is reserved for, and of course the name of the hotel bloc that they'll have to say to get the rate, is what you might put on the insert card.
Oh, here's my wording sample:
Hotel information:
We advise you to make your reservations early. A hotel we recommend/Rooms are blocked off for our guests at the following hotel:
Hotel Fictional
130 Fictional St.
Some City, State ZIP
(111) 555-1212
Be sure to mention the ______/_____ wedding to get the group rate.
More details can be found at http://ourwebsite.com
i am going to include the price (group rate & aaa price), days rooms are reserved for, and hotel info. most of my guest were asking if i was doing block rooms so they could get a better price, so i think they are expecting it to be on there...when i get mine done (hopefully in the next week) i can post them for you. also i am going to talk to the sales lady at the hotel and see if she has something i can send?
We simply included the hotel name/address/phone number and the name the blocked rooms is held under. Your guests won't mind doing the research to find out the price. Plus, I find that the price fluxuates so you don't want to give them a quote and be off.
Our venue recommended we put something about accommodation in with our save the dates cos there's a fair bit on tourism wise in our town around the time of the wedding. She was able to recommend a website that lists all of the accommodation in our area. That way we'll be able to put a little card in with the STD's that say that if people will require accommodation they should book asap and we'll just list the website. That way people have some choice about how much they want to spend etc. Otherwise you could compile a list of accomm with the phone numbers etc and you could just put something in with the STD's that say that if people want accomm they can email you for the list?
We just did a wedding website (there are TONS of sites you can use, for free, that are VERY easy to figure out) and then we are just including everything on the website. You could do a quick website (even if it just has hotel names and numbers with prices) and then put it on your info card.
Thank you so much for all the help! After a glass of wine and your input, I feel much better!!!!

Right now we're working on the save the dates and we're going to enclose a card for hotel information. It's not a destination wedding, but we do have lots of out of town guests.
Do people include price of rooms? Is that tacky? What do you include? Any samples? ANy help to talk me off the ledge would be great!
