- Wedding: February 2013
First of all, thank you WB for being there for me during this wedding process. You’ve offered opinions, emotional support, poll answers, and helped keep me sane.
My wedding day started bright and early setting up the reception hall. The first wedding day problem came when I left to meet my hair stylist at my parents’ house, and I realized I didn’t have a key to the house. Oops, now we were 20 mins behind!
Hair and makeup went smoothly once they got started, and we were at the Church about an hour before ceremony time. We took standard getting ready photos, and before I knew it 2:30 rolled around. I finally took the long walk towards the love of my life, and he couldn’t have looked more handsome and happily in love with me. When my dad gave me away with a kiss, he stepped on my cathedral veil and slipped, causing my head to go backwards in front of everyone! We all broke into laughter, the priest said “I hope you all saw that,” and with laughter we started the ceremony. It was a beautiful mass, with a wonderful homily by the priest. We teared up a little during the vows, but neither of us cried, and finally, after 14 months of planning, we were married!
The reception was everything I envisioned, and more. Simple was really the best way to go. Everything was beautiful, and elegant, and reflected DH (squee!) and I perfectly. The DJ was great, our food AMAZING, the cakes delish, and our guests all seemed to have a grand time. Amazingly we were able to eat and visit every single table with about 2 hours left in the reception! DH and I were able to dance and party the rest of the night away. Our reception timeline kept everything on task and people entertained. I didn’t want to leave at the night’s end, but a wonderful send off with waving 12th Man Towels (we both went to TX A&M) led us to our limo, which took us to a lovely hotel for our first night together as husband and wife 🙂
Little things that went wrong:
– It was raining all day, but oh well.
– Forgot sharpies for my shutterfly guest book so the first few pages were signed in ball point, and thus smeared
– Aggie War Hymn with all our friends
– Our amazing photographers who probably took 5,000 photos
– Dancing, dancing, and more dancing
Here are a few guest photos (honestly there weren’t that many good ones):
At the Church
Best guest photo!
The amazing groom’s cake I surprised DH with!
At the end of the night, can you tell we had been dancing?
Can’t wait for the pro pics to come in! I’ll show y’all those as soon as they do!
