Oooo, I love the idea of jewel tones for fall -- and they woudl go beautifully with grey!
Maybe it depends on what shade of green you use? I could see a bright, rich, shade of green going with the grey... but maybe that's just in my mind. I was thinking something along this shade...

Actually I kind of see a rich or darker shade of green potentially looking muddy next to grey. Not enough pop in that kind of palette. Something bright would definitely be better though. Or a pale green in the tone of a butter yellow would be nice...we all know how grey and yellow looks fab together :)!
I love how bright citron yellow pairs with charcoal.
Green would be nice, too, though. You should check out www.bklynbrideonline.com for real wedding inspiration. Vané used green, white and black (some grey, too) with hints of yellow in her wedding. (Psst, she's an interior designer, too!) :o)
Go with what you LOVE!!!
I agree that the right jeweled green (with a bit of a teal to it, perhaps) would look good, but my absolute favorite for pairing with charcoal in every shade of purple. I think that if you have samples of teh colors you want (I suggest the paint chip method), your friend might be better able to help you. Ultimately though, go with the colors you want and the wedding will be more "you."
I'm actually using charchoal grey, dark purple (like.. plum) and light blue. Like this color palette and the groom in this wedding.
Here's what I found on Snippet and Ink...I just searched gray. HTH http://snippetandink.blogspot.com/search?q=gray
I'm planning on wearing a dove gray dress, so I'm in the same boat as you...though I think I'm doing yellow or orange and white.
i don't want to throw your colors a curve ball, but a pale yellow would look fab with your charcoal dresses. add a natural green in with your accents, like bouquets, bouts, etc.
I'm not even that big of yellow fan, but I think it looks great w/ gray! I wore that color once in a wedding, and we had multicolor "wildflowers"
Here are some thoughts!
Green
Pink
Orange
Navy Blue
Check out colorcombos.com to compare colors next to each other; it's a great resource!
i really like how lavender looks with charcoal grey. a pale yellow would also be nice.
I love grey and think it goes with nearly anything, but it goes best with purple!
My sister is using charcoal, silver, and yellow for her fall wedding -- and it looks amazing. She also considered orange (instead of yellow, not in addition to), and it looked great as well.
I love the idea of yellow but that was already frowned on because yellow is not a fall colour!
As for the green, it was more of a pistachio green and would only be used vary sparingly. All my flowers are white, all the table linens are white and favor boxes are white with gray ribbon. I'm going for a very modern and sleek wedding. But I feel that all that grey, white and black is too dark for just the invitiation. A just need a little splash of colour!
I dont know can you have a lavender in fall? Or light blue?
The darker jewel tones look amazing but I think I would need to use it more than what I want it for.
How about grey and orange? Martha Stweart had a palate of these colors last fall and it was gorgeous...
We're doing a fall wedding with charcoal grey and pale pink. Not exactly fall colors, but it works with the venue really well.
Can I ask which dresses your bridesmaids are wearing? This is next on my list and I am having a heck of a time trying to find CHARCOAL as opposed to platinum or silver, etc.
That aside, I think green would look amazing. Just last night my sister told me to PLEASE add green and take out the pink. Haha. If you go to Style Me Pretty there is a gorgeous wedding they just posted a ton of pics of, where the colors were grey and green. So fresh looking!! http://www.stylemepretty.com/
And I wouldn't worry if it looks fall-ish or not. It's got to look like YOU. :-)

Im having a fall wedding and my bridesmaids dresses are charcoal grey.
I need an accent colour. My first choice would be green and my color palatte would be grey, green, black and white.
But then a friend (who is an interior designer) said that green does not go nicely. UGHH. Now I dont know.
What is a good accent color then?
