So I bought my jewelry pretty early.. I won a pearl necklace at a bridal show, and bought a pearl bracelet to match it, which I love! But after trying the pearls on with my dress, I’m not so sure that I’m crazy about it… It’s just not “me”.
Does it even look good with the dress? I’m so bad at this stuff…
My Grandmother offered to let me borrow my Great-Grandmother’s necklace (I also wore it for my engagement photos), and I feel like I would rather wear that than the pearls. But is it “wedding” enough for my big day? And do I now need to buy a new bracelet?
I just don’t know what to do!
Oh, and my hair piece has pearls in it :/

I love the pearls,
BUT- if you want to wear grandmas necklace for sentimental reasons, you can still wear the pearl bracelet and hairpiece- it is not like it clashes. 🙂

I honestly like the look of both necklaces, and think it would come down to what you prefer…if it were me I would wear my grandma’s necklace, the bracelet and the hairpiece and not worry about it at all!

Personally, I like the pearl necklace with your dress better but I totally get if you want to wear your great-grandmother’s necklace for sentimental reasons.
Have you considered getting a more delicate chain to go with your great-grandma’s necklace? I think that might make it appear more dainty and bridal.

I would def. wear your great-grandma’s necklace! I’m sure she would be happy about you wearing it on your wedding day. It ties in well with the bracelet and hairpiece, too, since they have sparkling stones as well as pearls. If the pearl necklace doesn’t feel like “you,” that’s the best reason in the world for not wearing it.

I also like the pearls better BUT I would wear my grandmother’s necklace for sentimental reasons.

I love both looks, but I think I prefer the look with your grandmother’s necklace – your dress has so much detail that I think the pearl necklace distracts from the dress’s beading and detail. Your grandmother’s necklace complements the dress very nicely without taking away from the details on the dress. Plus, the sentimental value is worth so much. I wore my great-grandmother’s ring on my wedding day, and it was really special – I thought of her every time I looked at it. I agree with RexManningDay – maybe the pearl bracelet is too thick…I would look for a daintier bracelet or go bracelet-less. Less is more! And your dress, plus the necklace and hair piece, are beautiful as they are!

I like the sentiment of grandma’s necklace but I like the look of the pearls. I’m no help at all. Sorry.

I am not feeling the pearls, and since your dress is blingy, I feel like the pearls are competing with your dress.
On the other hand, I think your grandmother’s necklace with just a little bling goes very nicely.

Psst…you can wear both! Wear what you prefer for the ceremony (and portraits) and change for the reception. 🙂

First of all, your dress is gorgeous!! I like the pearls because I feel like they are a bit more formal/fit the formality of your dress. Your grandma’s necklace does seem a bit casual. BUT, it is your grandma’s necklace AND you only get married once, so I would do what you will feel best about regardless of the look.
