I just wrote a post a few days ago about how I knew he had the ring, but I wouldn’t go and find it…
Lo’ and behold, the ring found me, lol!
I was searching around for my SO’s passport before he came home just to help him get ready for a flight he has the next day and when I looked in his nightstand (where he used to keep his passport), I found the box. (BTW, what a terrible hiding spot!) I tried really, really hard not to peek until he came home where I then told him that I found it and how much I wanted to see it, but if he didn’t want me to peek then he needed to find another hiding spot, haha.
He actually let me take a look! We rationalized that it’s the same as if we had chosen it together in person and I had seen it in store, so the “magic” isn’t really ruined for us for the proposal. I honestly think that the proposal itself (whatever way he chooses to do it) is the “magical” part, and the ring is just a piece of the event, so I’m not too fussed about ~seeing the ring now~. He isn’t fussed about it either; he said he was only worried if it would “ruin” the proposal for me if I saw the ring in person, but I assured him that’s not the case. We had already chosen the ring together online from an Etsy store so I already knew “how it looked” but I had never seen it in real life and I was SO curious to know if it was just as gorgeous in person as it is in photos I’ve seen online…
Guys, it’s SO much prettier in real life! My super quick and crappy photo to text to my two closest friends (who are the only ones besides my mom and sister to know that he plans to propose to me) does not do it justice! It’s a moonstone, so it looks dull in the photo but in real life it seriously looks ethereal and glows blue flashes like crazy.
Afterwards, he told me to go stand and face the corner in the kitchen and he blasted the song Axel F- Crazy Frog (I HATE that song; he thinks its friggin’ hilarious, lol!) while he re-hid the ring someplace else.
EEEK, I can’t stop smiling this week 😀

It is a gorgeous ring though! I love the cut of the moonstone! I’m sure it shines like crazy in person!

kcoast : THANKS! ^_^ I’m like ready to jump out of my skin with anticipation now, but the proposal isn’t going to happen anytime before August (most likely later – or so I’m told) so I’m in for a bit of a wait!

Very pretty – I LOVE moonstone!
SO and I created my ring together, and I know he has it somewhere, but it hasn’t even occurred to me to look because I want when he proposes to be the first time I see it in person!
BUTTT I might feel differently if I had to wait to wear it as long as you do – I get to wear mine in about a week!
Good luck with the waiting period 🙂

That ring is GORGEOUS, oh my gosh. (Early) Congratulations!
That is really sweet how he let you see it. I’m sure that was a unique and special moment for you both. I always say everyone’s experience is different, and this will be a sweet moment you both can look back on. Can’t wait to hear about the proposal!!
So funny he made you stand in the corner. haha.
