I'd never heard of the bride and groom paying before weddingbee, even on other wedding pages. It's a nice courtesy to reserve a room block at a hotel, which is just you negotiating with the hotel for a lower rate for your guests.
Its not a requirement for the bride and groom to pay for lodging for out of town guests. That would be insanely generous.
A lot of people chose to reserve a block of hotel rooms at a discounted rate for out of town people.
I've never heard of a bride and groom paying for accomodations for out of town guests. That sounds crazy, you're typically already spending so much on the wedding already, I can't imagine wedding guests would ever expect for you to pay for their lodging...
You don't have to pay for places for out of town guests to stay. Just block of rooms at a local hotel.
Thanks! That is exactly what I will do reserve a block for a cheaper rate for my guests:) Thanks ladies.
NO WAY!!! I am getting married in Dutch Wonderland which is like 2 hours away from my town and like 3 hours away for some guests. I am not paying for any of their hotels. If they want to sleep there they can pay for it themselves!! lol. I know that I would never expect someone else to pay for me to take a vacation. LOL.
nah, you could provide suggestions for accomodation or even secure a bulk booking rate. i don't think guests would expect the couple to pay!

Is it a requirement for the Bride and Groom to pay for a hotel, or provide a place to stay for out of town guest? If so what do you do if you don't live in the area either? How do you afford it? Help.
