I’m going for a consult on Thursday and have no idea where to start!  You’re not alone!

We just had our first floral meeting. We’re doing a lot of roses, I think. Roses are pretty much always in season; I want them for their classic and elegant look.

We are growing our own lilies (Asiatic/Oriental), as they usually start blooming very late June through early August. If they happen to have a bad season we are going to have back ups of mixed wildflowers from the local farmers market, or failing that, cabbage roses and babies breath.

I think Calla lilies are also in season, they are pretty popular for bouquets. I am sure if you talk to a local florist they will have a lot of options for you to look at.

My bouquet is going to be peonies. Bridesmaids will have a mix of garden roses, rannuculus, gardenia, mini calla lillies, crespidia, waxflowers, and hosta leaves. The bouts will be made with garden roses and the moms’ corsages will be made with gardenias. Our centerpieces will feature stargazer lillies and some other seasonal fillers. The church/reception arrangements will have asiatic lillies, peonies and gardenias.

How early do Dahlias bloom? Those are my front-runner if they’re available.

I’m nervous about what’s in season since we will go to the DIY route.

Also, we’re very early July.

I am having ranunculus, peonies, dahlias and green hydrangea in my bouquet. My bridesmaids will be similar. FI will wear a bout with ranunculus and the rest of the GMs and ushers will have pink spray roses. Our centerpieces are going to be dahlias and lemon leaves. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!!

Stock (purple)
French Lilac
Lisianthus
Iris
Snapdragons

I’m shipping in hydrangea from Oregon. I may include some lavender too, but I’m still on fence with that. I’m trying to use FH’s brother to use his resturant contacts to order mint and lavender to add texture.

I’m doing a red ball like the WB girl on the top of this page.    The girls will have white gerbera daisies and my centrepieces are going to be big white hydrangeas.

ack. I haven’t contacted a florist yet. I guess I should get on with it.  I’m in love with peonies but read that they’ll be too expensive/ hard to get since it will be out of season for them. I really really want them. Hopefully it won’t be too bad.
