Ack. Who else has made quite an expensive mistake?

I hate wasting money. It sucks.

I can’t really think of any expensive fuck ups, but even small ones bother me. It really sucks. Oh, I just thought of one. SO got me the morning after pill, Plan B, one time after a BC slip up. It cost $60, but I didn’t take it. Taking pills freak me out. I chickened out on taking it bc I realized I was just paranoid and didn’t need it in the first place. Oops. I brought my rabbit to vet over a very superficial scrape (more like a scratch). Unnecessary vet visit=wasted money. I broke 2 tablets. More wasted money.

@Dancing-in-September:  Honestly, I would NOT have chosen my wedding band if I had seen it in person first.  FI bought them as a set (one of a few “final picks” that I showed him).  It’s a beautiful band with rounds and baguettes, but my taste has been drifting more towards simple, plain bands.  I feel terrible wanting to buy a new one or melt it down…

Expensive mistakes suck.

@Dancing-in-September:  Wear ’em together for a while and see if you come around?  Otherwise, if you have the money don’t stress too much…it’s your wedding band, not dress regret.  You will actually wear it for the rest of your life.

@Dancing-in-September:  LOL- I can relate EXACTLY.  I had a ring custom made- and while I wouldn’t call it “expensive”, it was still a decent chunk of money that I will never get back- and I am not wearing that as my wedding bank anymore- we’ve purchased a new one.

So yeah, I feel ya.

I’ve taken it to a few places, talked to a few jewelers- I will get nothing but the price of scrap gold- there are diamonds, but they are tiny and while they are beautiful + sparkly, they don’t amount to much monetarily.

So yeah….I’m got my own little expensive mistake over here 🙁

I’m trying to sell it on here, on ebay- for less than I paid.  I though about keeping it as a right hand ring, but I don’t like jewerly enough, so I know I won’t wear it.

Put down a $200 deposit on a dress I decided not to get. Ouch. At least it all went to charity and it could have been a lot worse if I had bought it and ended up with the inevitable dress regret!!

@Dancing-in-September:  Something to laugh about- while not a expensive as jewelry, I also messed up our invites.

I ordered 100 invitations.  We had an original guest list total of 65- obviously some of them living together.  Um yeahhhhhhhh.  To my defense, my fiance was sitting right there and ordered them with me- he didn’t seem to catch that, either.  He didn’t care, but I was pissedat myself.

Also, because we did a few mock ups of the invites, we ended up ordering 2 color invites (by mistake)- which REQUIRED us to buy to RSVPS from the same place in order to match perfectly- but it was the BLACK ink that we accidently changed to “pewter”.  I am good with making those kind of things- I didn’t want to make our invites, but I was totally cool with making the RSVPs.  I made sure to download the same fonts as our invites, etc….was all ready to go until the dang invites arrived.  Go us!! LOL  At least we laugh about it now! But all of that cost a bunch of extra $$$$$$

I was trying to take the speck case off my Macbook to clean it, the case popped off one corner but was holding on for dear life to the other corner and puller the monitor apart.  I wasn’t even pulling that hard! It cracked the LED screen and bent the metal casing of the monitor.  They quoted me $600 to fix it, for a 5 year old computer I didn’t think it was worth it so I bought a new Macbook instead. Ouch.

@Dancing-in-September:  Is there any way you can sell it/talk/trade with a jeweler? Maybe “fix” it so that it fits with your engagement ring? It’s your wedding band after all… Anyways, I bought two rather expensive tennis shoes and I won’t wear them because they hurt 🙁 I really like them, they are pretty and “comfortable”, BUT they won’t fit my feet appropriately *sighs* I hate those second-pair-half-off-no-exchanges sales!

mine is nwr. Going to school not knowing what I wanted to go for. I have racked up 34k is school loans and just decided for sure that I want to go down the medical path. I also screwed up by not doing good in the classes I took. So what I really want to go for is out of my reach because I basically have to have a 4.0 to even be accepted into the RN program. So I’m either screwed over by having to pay out of pocket to retake those classes I messed up in, which I can’t afford, or I have to go to a school for medical assisting and my credits won’t transfer over to a community college. So I screwed myself up and am paying a lot to become a MA now. I’ll be paying off school loans till I die. :/
