hmm ... doesn't sound like the best thing for me, I'm almost skeptical. Is it OTC? Any Docs in the hive have any input?
I've actually heard about this before, and everything I've read about it had positive reviews. I'm considering it...
This is a prescription diuretic medication, used for blood pressure and people who retain too much fluid. I didn't know it could be used for acne.
Here are some reviews I've seen on acne boards - seems like for every pro, there's a con (like with most medications):
hmmm.. reading these reviews basically sounds like it dehydrates. I don't know if I like that.
Yep, you have to get it from a dermatologist. Different medications affect people differently, so whatever works for you.
@SaraAileen - have you had any issues with dehydration or low blood pressure? I really want to try it but I already have really low blood pressure.
I had never heard of it before. I'm gonna have to check out the reviews!
@Laylabelle- I get thirstier and have to drink more water, but for me it's not a big deal. My blood pressure has been fine- I actually do health research on hypertension so I am checking my BP all the time!
You should definitely talk with your doctor about your BP before trying this medication, some people have really low blood pressure because they are athletes but I don't know your story. Good luck!!

Hello bees,
I just wanted to pass along a tip for clearer skin to the brides-to-be. I have been using an oral acne medication called Spironolactone for the past few months and it has made my acne completely disappear. Plus, the good thing about an oral medication is that it works on your face AND your back/chest. Even better, it's a diuretic so you lose some weight- I have actually lost 10 pounds.
It's kind of an intense drug, but it might be worth it for some who are struggling with their skin before their wedding day.
