I don’t know Murad but Proactive worked like a charm for me. Maybe you could try an organic treatment? Talk to a naturapath?

Acne is medical.  If you have insurance that covers it, I would recommend seeing a derm.  Even if you have mild acne – my derm helped me so much (my acne is more severe) and it cost less than proactive or any of those things!  Worked better too!

If you don’t want to see a derm, the Acne Free kit has gotten a lot of good reviews online.

I swear by OXY (10% benzol peroxide) and retin-A.

I have been using Proactive that has worked like a charm.  I get compliments on my skin now all the time when compared to before when I would stress and have pimples all over my face.  I definitely recommend it because it has done wonders to my skin.

I used Proactive before and it really dried me out even when I used the smallest amount-Acne Free was working pretty good but I was still breaking out bad (chin, forehead etc). Wildstyle is right if you can go to a derm, I finally did and he put me on Acanya (check spelling Wink) and also an oral medication. It has made a WORLD of difference!!!! I’ve only been on for 2 weeks and everyone in my family and my FI notices the difference-I notice it too. I’ve been able to comfortably go make-up free for 2 weeks and not worry about people looking at my acne! And he gave me another cream to clear up old scars and that’s working great too! If you can totally go to a derm Smile

Chitownb2b – You sound just like me, I just got precribed Acanya, an oral medication, and another cream (which my pharmacy doesn’t have yet for some reason). I’ve only had mine for like 3 days though. My skin went crazy after I went off my birth control which really made me mad because I have never had problems and my whole teenage life I always got comments from my friends about how they were jealous that I never broke out! Grr. Do you use the Acanya in the morning and the other cream at night? That is how my derm prescribed mine, plus the oral twice a day.

I think the best thing to do is talk to your dermatologist.  They can probably recommend the best acne treatment.  Not all treatments like Proactive can work for your skin. It did on mine, but I’d suggest making a visit to the doctor.  The doctor will know your skin more than anyone else.

Oh yeah, I just wanted to second (or third or fourth haha) that you should go to see a dermatologist if at all possible. You won’t regret it, I promise.

HoneyBunny, yup that’s how I do it 🙂 it’s working great for me, but remember to make sure you wear facial sunscreen (my derm said that the oral medication makes your skin more sensitive to UV) and to try and stay out of direct sunlight if possible. I got my prescription filled at Target-they didn’t have the cream in stock because it’s not something that they reg dispense so they had to order it-they ordered it on a Saturday and I had it by Monday-see if it can be ordered there or check other pharmacies Smile
