MrsNerdy :  I have been taking Vitex and it has helped a lot. I know a lot of ladies take it to help their LP but I have been doing it for acne. I had to stop taking it to do my stims so my face has been broken out since but since I started TTC I have used Vitex and it did wonders. Good luck.

Following because I know my face will do the same once DH and I decide to TTC. I’m on spironolactone which is a major no for pregnancy and it’s the only thing that has ever helped me.

I’m also on a topical that my derm said works really well for women with adult acne. I’m not sure if it’s safe for pregnancy so you would want to ask your doctor, but it’s called Aczone.

I previously used Tazorac to treat my acne.  However, when I got pregnant with #1, by OB told me that I couldn’t use it anymore.  She referred me to a dermatologist to find something that I could use while pregnant and nursing.  My derm prescriped Finacea. My son just turned 1 and I used Finacea throughout my pregnancy and nursing and it has worked well.  I am now TTC #2 and have decided to keep using Finacea for the forseeable future.

mama2bee71 :  I’ve been thinking of doing the same. What brand/how much do you take?

ladycomfypants :  I got mine off of amazon. Gaia Herbs Vitex Berry, 60 Liquid Phyto-Capsules. That’s what I bought and I took two every morning before I ate anything. I did a lot of research on this and the brand.

MrsNerdy :  Thank you for starting this thread and thank you everyone for the tips. Lucky us – we get something entirely different to a pregnancy glow, haha.

I am going to try some of your suggestions. The Pill used to keep my skin under control, but that is obviously out. Erythromycin helps somewhat, but dries out my skin. I need to make sure to use a good moisturiser.

MrsNerdy :  Vitex did not affect my cycle at all. I always had LPs of 12 (give or take 1 day). My cycle would usually always be the 28th however last month it was 30 days (I O on CD17). I started TTC last March (2016) and started Vitex around August 2016. So I went some time without even taking it. I just couldnt take the adult acne any more. It really helped.
