Our wedding is in two weeks TOMORROW and we still haven’t picked our first dance song! Not because we have been negligent, but because we are SO picky.
We are looking for something that is NOT a popular song, who most (if not all) people haven’t heard before… but is a mellow, soft, slow, possibly acoustic rock song. Something that the lyrics are clear and audible. Something simple but a little romantic. So far our backup song is ‘Green Eyes’ by Coldplay, which I love but my fiance isn’t too keen on how popular it is.
Does anyone know of anything that fits the bill? Something similar to ‘Green Eyes’? Please help! All suggestions are welcome!

How about Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros with their song”Home”. it is a beautiful song; not sure how much popularity it had in your place though…
Maybe something by british artist Frank Turner?

Okay I don’t know if the lyrics work for you on any of these, but I’ll just throw them out there.
Incubus – Monuments and Melodies
Dredg – Information (acoustic)
Eric Emery – Cote by Karnivool cover
Slipknot – Vermillion part 2
Brother’s Born – Before Your Eyes
Anberlin – The Unwinding Cable Car
Hurt – That (Such a Thing)
Bush has some nice acoustic songs (live on the rooftop especially IMO) but his lyrics aren’t usually very happy/romantic.

Kate Rusby, “Walk the Road”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOLLsbeFgTY
Also, I don’t see it up on YouTube, but Ben Bedford’s “Long As Your Eyes Are Blue” is lovely:

Westwood: Vermillion pt 2 is such a beautiful song;
After reading Incubus, it also makes me think of their song “Drive”. I really like the “whatever tomorrow brings I’ll be there, with open arms and open eyes”-chorus… (not sure if the rest of the lyrics will work though) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgT9zGkiLig

Ray Lamontagne would be good to look at. Also Rod Stewart, my personal favorite is “You’re In My Heart.” Amazing, original, sweet.
