I found a bunch of great stuff in the dollar bins at Michael's including little bracelet making kits and other similar crafty things. Colouring books sound like they should do the trick though :) I'll probably get some of those too.
I just did a bunch of research on Etsy!

The dollar store is GREAT! I hit them up a few weeks ago, and since it's summer, they have tons of fun toys.
Target also has some GREAT stuff in their dollar bins (right at the front of the store as you come in the doors). That's where we got the magne-doodles (sp?) that we used. We figured there was less of a risk of crayons or markers on the walls of our facility with the magnetic doodle thingy. Match box cars for the boys is another good idea. That'll keep them occupied and out of trouble for HOURS in my experience! Good luck!!!
what about disposable cameras just for them- so they can document the event in their own way. I guess this would only work for kids 5 years old and up.
finger puppets (lots of these on etsy)

I'm putting together small activity bags for young children (say, 3-8 years old) to have during the ceremony (it will be a fairly long church service, with hymns, communion, etc).
So far, I have:
colouring books
pencil crayons
animal crackers
??? what else? They need to be small, non-messy things--or is what I have enough?
Thanks!
