I just started seeing an acupuncturist about a month ago for recurring knee pain and migraines. It freaked me out at first, but after a treatment or two I did start to feel better. My knee pain has died down a bit and I’ve noticed that my migraines less frequent and more manageable.

It’s a committment at  first, my acupuncturist had me going 3x a week at the beginning. Now it’s tapered down to once a week, and once my symptoms are under control it’ll probably be once a month for maintenance.

My friend has been going for a few months for treament for anxiety and depression and she says it’s been really effective for her. In fact she was able to cut down on her anti-depressants.

I’d personally recommend it, but would encourage you to get a referral from someone you know and trust.

I had it done and found it helped, but wouldn’t want it long term.  I was getting marks that didn’t go away for months after I stopped.  I know someone who has scars from going long term.

@AB Bride:  Me too!  I have one from 2 years ago that is still visible.  It’s on my hand, so not a big deal.

I also found it really painful, all over.  Maybe I’m just that messed up, but it was really uncomfortable for me!
