Adamson House parking

    Hi,

    We are having our wedding at Adamson House in Malibu over Labor Day weekend; any other Adamson House brides out there? Where are you parking? We contacted the Civic Center and they are unsure if they will be able to rent out the lot because they may undergo construction. Other options are more expensive....any luck?

    Hi --

    I am getting married at the Adamson House on August 22.  We were planning on parking at the Civic Center.  When I contacted Armida (my contact at the parking lot) a few months ago she didn't mention anything about the construction!  She just sent me the paperwork and told me there was no rush to send it back since they really only rented to adamson house couples.  

    What exactly did they tell you?  What other options are there even?

    Hi Petra,

    We are calling her again today; she said she is not sure if it will be available on our date (it may very well be available on yours). We contacted another lot nearby which is $600 more and we are calling church parking lots. I will let you know how it works out.

    We should communicate on vendors too if you like! We are just getting started but are going to schedule a tasting with Command Performance catering in the next couple of weeks.

    I'm so stuck!  CatalinaKC.. how funny, we are getting married at the Adamson the day after you are!  What a small world!!

     

    I have been having the most difficult time.  The one lot they suggested is so incredibly expensive and so we contacted Armida who had been so unhelpful to us.  She won't return our calls or email us back.  We submitted our permit as requested by Armida and we hadn't heard back from her in months.  Just today we called her to badger her and she finally picked up and told us that they can't accommodate us because of a Farmers Market they hold on Sundays (they're in negotiations to do the farmers market..it's not currently held).  

     

    I wish she would have just called us back to tell us it wasn't available instead of us having to call her obsessively.  

     

    We desperately need suggestions!! Help!

    Hi,

    I am getting married at the Adamson House in June 2010.  I just wanted to say how dissappointed I am with the communication I received about the parking situation.  I filled out the forms in December to reserve the Malibu Civic Center.  Armida, who handles the parking, received the forms and told me, via email and phone, that my permit was on file and the lot was definitely reserved for me that day so we were good to go.  She just said she would send me the physical permit in January when the 2010 permits were issued.  She did not mention anything about a farmers market or construction.  She reassured me several times that the parking lot was mine.  So of course by now, my wedding invitations, with parking info on an insert, has been printed. 

    I get an email today saying that the parking lot is no longer mine due to a farmers market they will be holding on Sundays. I call her to complain and she basically said there was nothing she could do for me.   You can imagine how upset I am...it was a huge blow since the invite info cards already went to print.  So now, I am rushing to find another parking lot and then to reprint my info cards.  Extremely upset...  Just a warning to all you out there to check on your parking reservation at the Civic Center if you have one...

    I, too, just received that email from Armida.

     

    Thanks Armida.. especially after we only found out NOT because you emailed us, but because we had to badger you with phone calls.

     

    I know it's not as cheap, mcg22 (since it's not a 'city' lot), but desperate times call for desperate measures:  call the coldwell banker office OR call RIZ Transportation

    Apparently they SAY they also have lots to rent out if needed.  Coldwell Banker down the street also has a lot for rent - much more expensive than the Civic Center, but close and AVAILABLE, thanks to Armida.  So I'd say maybe call the Coldwell Banker people and rent their lot and still use RIZ to shuttle??

    Thanks for the info lyss820.  I got in touch with both Riz transportation and "Amanda" at Mo Zuhair's suggestion.  They both said they would come back to me with rates and available parking lots, but I have yet to hear from either of them.  I also left 2 messages for Dale who handles the Coldwell Banker parking lot and he also has yet to get back to me.  Seriously, I am so tired of all these people who don't return phone calls...ARGH!!!!

    Also, I called a bunch of churches and banks around there to see if they would rent out their lots for cheaper...but no luck yet.

    At Catalinakc...You can't possibly be getting married at the Adamson House on September 18, 2010?!?!  Because that is our wedding day at the Adamson House! Yikes, please check!!!

    In regards to parking, I just received an email from Armida informing me to now submit our formal app along with the Certificate of Insurance and payment.  I am assuming we can use the parking for our date but I think I will call her to follow up.

    At Catalinakc, please check your date as I am now very worried.  :/

    Sorry Ms. Chocolate...I had picked an arbitrary wedding date for wedding bee...getting married September 4th at Adamson. 

    These are the places to call for parking, can't say we had a lot of luck:

    1.    Malibu Presbyterian Church: 310.456.1611......2. Civic Center Parking Lot: 213.974.425 $175.....3. Riz Transportation/Coldwell Bank Lot: 818.325.9632 $750.....4. Parking Concepts: 310.821.1081 (2300 PCH) - maximum 40 spots, $8 per spot......5. Miramar Properties Investments: 310.456.0063.....6. Webster Elementary School: 310.456.6494, possibly have dirt lot for 60, $7 per spot, www.smmusd.org 3602 Winter Canyon Rd......7. Our Lady of Malibu Church (may not be renting)

    Are any of you using a caterer not on the recommended vendor list? Do you have a rental company recommendation? We are trying to find the most affordable rental option....
