Maybe adding one of those lil phrases would work 🙂

@laura.batty:  its a tough one! for anyone who doesnt know that the quote is from corpse bride probably wouldnt see anything gothic or halloweeny about it. i would leave it off the invites but maybe use it as your vows?! or have it on your programme.

as for the wording – i LOVE your term ‘gothic glam’ and think you should play around with that – MUCH more semi formal than talking of halloween parties and monster mash bashes.

maybe say the ceremony will be followed by a gothic glam ball so wear your best goulish garments. do you have a wedding website? maybe keep the invite simple but suggestive and put more details on the wesite?

hope you find some wording you like!! cant wait to see the rest of your planning!! (following your progress in your other posts – your dress is GORGEOUS btw!)x

If you want people in gowns and top hats I would not write semi-formal attire…that reads cocktail dresses and suits- with or without a tie.

Attire: Gothic Formal, Spooky Black Tie, Gothic Chic, heck Gothic Glam would work.

For the invite itself less is more, use the font and invite art to convey the theme.

If your date is correct on your post… you could totally mention something about the day of the dead! Idk, just a thought.

@laura.batty:  I’m not sure about wording but your wedding sounds like so much fun!! I do have a suggestion for quotes from Corpse Bride and Addams, I’ve seen people use love quotes on their tables – I think having a gothic love quote on each table would be so much fun for guests. They may go around and see what table has what and mingle more.

To live without you, only that would be torture. A day alone, only that would be death.  – Addams Family, 1994

Like spiders weave their webs with care, Laura & Jamie invite you to bear witness as two souls join as one, spinning a web of love strong enough to last ‘Til Death do Us Part.

Revel in the glamour of our gothic romance at 3pm on 1st November 2014 at ______.

Enjoy a chilling good time in your most bewitching attire with food*, candy, dessert, and dancing until you drop.

How’s this? I took what you had and went from there. Also, *I don’t know what kind of food you’re serving, but I’d be slightly more specific. Instead of “food,” I’d say dinner or hors d’oeuvres or whatever applies in your situation.

@laura.batty:  I think youmight be trying to include too many references in the invitation itself. You will have lots of opportunity for that at the wedding.
