I finished my DIY invites (invitation portion only, still need to do RSVP and direction card and then assemble and envelopes etc.).
Well my mother wants to add on a cocktail hour and will pay for it! Great! However, on my invite it says reception starts at 6pm and therefore if guests want to take advantage of cocktail hour and open bar the cocktail hour would begin at 5pm.
Wedding is in one place and reception is in another. If they leave the ceremony site they will arrive in perfect timing for cocktail hour to begin.
But how do I let guests know about cocktail hour if the invites state reception at 6pm?

Update the wedding website and word of mouth! Tell the whole wedding party and your aunts on both sides–word will get out.

Can you add a moo card with the cocktail info to the invitation suite?

may you could mention it in the ceremony programs? or have someone make a quick announcement right before the ceremony begins?

Maybe you could put it on the RSVP card somewhere. Sort of like this:
