I am afraid to admit it, but I think I am completely addicted to wedding planning. I still have awhile to go, and have all of the “big” things taken care of, pretty much… and for the stuff that hasn’t been done, I’ve done tons of research and have plenty of ideas. I find that when a few hours go by and I haven’t looked at a wedding blog or sent an email wedding-related, I start to literally CRAVE it! Like I need to be doing it at all times. I’m not sure how to satisfy the really weird desire to do wedding-related stuff, when there isn’t really anything that needs to be done at the moment.
Does anyone else ever feel that way? And if you do, what do you do to fill that weird void?! Any wedding tasks or fun things I might be missing?

Haha I’m in the same boat! If I’m not planning my wedding I’m planning someone elses! I love arts & crafts so I start coming up with new ideas! 🙂

I just keep adding DIY projects..hahaha
Sadly, they are like 98% done, and the only thing I have to do from now until May2 is send the invites (and work out like crazy!)

It’s a little harder for me since weddings are my job, too. But… I find I’m much more productive if I spend at least one entire evening or day without any sort of wedding reading or researching.
Will I maybe make a to do list on that day of things i need to think about? Yes. But it helps keep my life in just a teeny bit of balance by having a wedding free day.
🙂 Good luck!

@thewheelsonthebus: For sure! I’ve tried to have full days where I tell myself I’m not going to do a single wedding-related thing… and then all of a sudden, I’ve been on the computer for 6 hours reading blogs and updating lists… Oops! But it’s definitely a good idea.

Ahh absolutely…the way you described it sounds just like me! I have all the major things taken care of way in advance and I have tons of saved ideas for everything I’ve yet to plan. Sometimes my FI asks me what I am going to do to pass the time once the wedding is over! I can’t help it, I’m a compulsive planner and wedding stuff is so much fun! I’m also guilty of being on WB at work now, so I’m definitely a fellow addict 🙂

It is addictive, isn’t it? It’s so much more interesting than scanning genealogical records for the article I’m supposed to be writing…

Im not getting married for like 15 months and I am wedding planning like every waking hour. I have down time at work and it ALL i do. I love it and I love seeing everything everyone else is doing. Wedding planning is too much fun to let a day go buy without it! I have NOO idea what I will do after the wedding lol.

Me too! FI keeps asking ms what I’m going to do when the wedding is over, what are we going to do with our time/$$ then? It’s a good question, haha 🙂

Mine has asked me as well “what are you going to do when the wedding is over” and he assumes that I’m still going to look at all the blogs. I’ve told him no way, that’s crazy… but I bet I will have to wean myself off slowly 🙂

I am glad you are enjoying it. I despised every moment of wedding planning and I was soooooooooooooo happy when it was done!
