That would be Mrs. Shortcake. :-) I'm not enough of a seamstress to be able to offer any suggestions but her post would probably be a good place to start!
Yep, Mrs. Shortcake. Just for a reference point I paid $120 to have the lace removed and reattached with the shortening of my hem. They also might be able to take the dress apart at the waist and just pull it up and reattach it. You should ask them about adding some extra netting under your dress if you don't want to wear 2 crinolines. I know I wanted mine less poofy, so I had teh seamstress cut a layer of the built in fluff our of mine, and she laughed and said she'd save it for her next bride b/c everyone else wanted more added. :)

I read one of the Bee's blogs in which she wrote that she added extra crinoline (sp?) under her dress but can't seem to find the blog or even remember which Bee it was.... she had the problem with the florist putting her flowers in her garage freezer and the meanie photographer. Anyone know what I am talking about?
My problem is my dress has a band of lace around the bottom but being short I will definately need it taken up as I wouldn't survive wearing heels that high all night long... then I remembered reading that she had added some extra fluff and wondered if I could do that since I wouldn't mind my dress being a little fluffier & shudder to think of the cost of taking off all the lace and putting it back on & am definately not willing to lose it. Any ideas/suggestions?
