After over a year of poking in and around this site, I’m finally starting a post of my own 🙂
I finally found my dress(DB yp3344) but, I’m consider adding delicate straps or cap sleeves to give me a little more coverage up top and still keep it romantic. As a larger-chested girl(DDD), I knew this dress was the one when it (felt like me AND) actually supported my chest. This dress is actually a great minimizer,I feel so small! That being said, I am happy with the dress but still nervous and a little uncomfortable about how much skin is showing/how expansive that exposed skin looks.
What do you think, bees, would a strap or romantic cap sleeve ruin this dress? or just bee too much combined with the other details?

As long as the sleeves you add go well with dress, it should be fine and is a good idea. Delicate straps, like in the third picture, might look good. The dress coverage looks great on you, though, so sleeves and straps might not add that much to what’s already there.
There are cap sleeves that David’s Bridal has that lots of other brides have used for their dresses. Personally, I don’t think those sleeves would work with that dress, so looking at other cap sleeve/sleeve options may be a good idea. The sleeves I am talking about can be seen on dress style 9V9010. I mention that only because I see those sleeves used a lot with dresses other than the dress style I mentioned, and it’s not unusal for them to not look good together.

Your dress is so pretty and detailed. I feel like straps would take away from it, not add too it.

@Rhopalocera. good points. i know what you mean about those pesky cap sleeves too! i’ve seen them everywhere and they usually don’t mesh well with the rest of the dress.
@Anna10-05-2014 , thank you! I was thinking that too, you’re both probably right.I’m going to try and do a test run on my next fitting.

I found a picture with cap sleeves from DB’s site. Thoughts?
