@Kafrine:  I think that lace straps or lacey cap sleeves are lovely, but I always wonder about finding compatible lace on a bodice. You aren’t going to find an exact match (unless ordering it from the designer?)

I might use as fabric the chiffon-type fabric that is your skirt, that’s easy to find. Multi-layered cap sleeves to echo the ruffles on the skirt would be one way to go.

I say this as someone who hangs around fabric stores, I have a fiar idea of what is easily available.

I added straps to my dress.  It was a chiffon dress that didn’t have much for sparkle.  The seamstress gave me the scraps of the bottom of the dress (after it was hemmed) and I took those to the fabric store and bought the closest color match I could find.  I love the way my dress looked with the straps added on.  I do know that some designers allow you to order extra fabric with your dress, and if you hem enough off of the bottom, you might be able to use that too.

All in all, adding straps was very inexpensive, I paid about $12 for the fabric and it was less than $30 to have the seamstress do the work for me.  (My total bill from her was like $300, so $30 seemed like nothing!!)

@Kafrine:  Sure do!  The one without straps is cropped kind of tight, but you can get the general idea.
