Address Labels, dreadfully tacky or creative?

I didn’t even start looking at envelopes to see how they were addressed until I came on the Bee. Now I do look but I can’t even remember how the invite we received two weeks ago was addressed so I don’t think it’s a big deal at all to use labels.

I was picturing a big white label on your charcoal envelope and I don’t think that would look great but since you said you are using silver labels I think you should just move forward with labels.

Do the labels.

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter and people aren’t going to remember. We didn’t even bother with Mr/Mrs and all that. The invitation got to them and though some people may call it tacky, our wedding is pretty casual so we kept our invitations as such. If you are happy with it, who cares? There is too much “etiquette” people feel like they need to follow that makes weddings way more stressful then they need to be.

You can always print on clear labels and use a white or silver font.  I use clear labels all the time and it looks really really good.

zimme1sm:  do the labels. you can get clear ones too just incase the silver ones don’t print very well. you can try both. dont worry too much with what is wrong or right, whats tacky and what’s not tacky. people rip open the envelopes without looking twice at them. especially if the envelopes are a different color from your normal white. plus with all the bills and junk people get in the mail these days, people are just happy to receive anything that’s not bills.

I purchased silver labels to use on the envelopes.   Never thought about embossing them.  I like that idea too.

I used clear labels, with a pretty font, they were fine. I am going to use those same lables for the place cards as well.

I doubt anyone will even notice

zimme1sm:  Ive used white and grey on clear labels and they both came out legible.  I increase the boldness of the font whenever it looks too light.  Yep, when you use the clear it does look like you printed right on the envelope.  You can see a little bit of the border lines of the label but its really minimal.  I use Avery brand.  All the best!!

zimme1sm:  I made wraparound labels really quickly for my return address labels- i just scanned some scrapbook paper to use as a background, printed them on full sheet label paper, and cut them with a paper cutter.

eta but honestly, no one will care. you could stick whatever you want on the front and no one will notice. don’t waste your time with the embossing!

I’m doing labels… white on white envelopes.  If anyone cares so much that they’ll deny an invite over a printed label, I’ll consider myself lucky for finding them out! hehe
