Why can't you do that? Who says? I'll be in the same boat when I have to address mine. And will more than likely have to address it:
Jane Doe and Guest
123 Main Street
THis way at least she knows she allowed to bring a guest. Otherwise it will be too confusing.
I don't know why...I guess I thought because Guest doesn't live there, lol. The post office won't have a problem with it?
I'm glad you posted this because I didn't even think about it. BUt no, I don't think the post office will have an issue. As long as the person's name who lives there is on it, I think you'll be fine.
Have you looked for any examples online anywhere?

Check it out.

I think this is more like it.
Thank you!!
Ok so I am just going to put and guest because I don't know the names of everyone...I'm not sure a few people even know who they would be bringing.
I'm not printing them and I didn't use Mr. and Mrs. Lol I am breaking all sorts of etiquette rules!
I would say "and guest." I've received invites like that "Miss Gemstone and guest" and I did not take offense. Just make sure to get the guests' names after rsvps if you are doing a seating chart!
Thanks!! Nope...no seating charts!! We are only having about 40 people so I wasn't going to bother.

I started adressing my invites this morning. They consist of one outer envelope, the invite and the rsvp card w/envelope.
My question is how do I address them if I'm inviting for example, a cousin and her boyfriend...boyfriend doesn't live with her. I can't address the outside envelope to Jane Doe and Guest... HELP! It's easier with the families because I can just write The Jones Family.
