I didn't use Mr and Mrs on our STD's but I did Mr. and Mrs. First and First Last Name. I also only had one envelope and I did 'and guest' on the outside if they were getting a guest.
I plan on using Mr & Mrs First Last for the older, more traditional crowd. I'll use Mr & Mrs First & First Lastname for our married friends. I plan to include the guest's name wherever I can, otherwise - and guest will be on it (Ms. Jane Jones & guest)
Keep in mind that if you are inviting children by name, the proper is Miss or Master (Master Johnny Jones or Miss Sarah Jones)
Ms. is - the way i understand it, blanket for unmarried and Mrs. is for married.
Please correct me hive, if I'm wrong on any of that.
Don't use Miss for anyone over 16
Ms. is blanket for anyone over 16 and/or not married or for those that have not changed their last names but are married.
Mrs. is only for those who have changed their last names OR you know that they go by his socially.

I'm not sure how to properly addres our STD's. Do I go with 'Mr. and Mrs. John Doe', 'Mrs. Jane Doe and Guest'.....I don't know! I read online that adding the 'and Guest' is nice because then they know they can ask someone to come along. What has everyone here done or are planning on doing?
Also, as far as invitations go....as of right now I do not have inner envelopes. I just planned on using 1 envelope. Is it tacky to put 'and Guest' on the outer envelope?
