This was on my first list of wedding options:
http://jimbosclub.com/weddings.html
It didn't work for us - we couldn't have our families travel that far. But maybe it has some of the things you're looking for. Good luck!
@Ms. Dove: We looked into that venue too. Cool place but what a terrible name! Maybe its just me but it's hard to picture a beautiful wedding at a place called "Jimbos". lol
Try the Lodge on Echo Lake in Warrensburg. I've heard good reviews, and it's low priced.

Hey all, I'm recently engaged and starting to look at wedding venues. I'm planning the wedding for August of 2013 (I need a later summer wedding because of my school schedule, me and the FH are on the quest for never ending advanced degrees). I'm hoping to book the venue well in advance since we have the time to do it and it will be more likely we can have the date we want. So here's what I'm looking for (its a giant wish list):
-In the Adirondacks, preferably no further north than North Hudson (Northway exit 29/30 area) since I know thats about as far as our friends are comfortable traveling. It was also where we met and later where we first talked about being interested in each other. We basically fell in love with each other while driving to and from schroon lake.
-Something private: I've been to a lot of weddings lately (and a lot of other events where weddings were happening simulteously) and I didn't particularly love the idea of getting married while people are teeing off 50 feet away, or having other restaurant/hotel guests there. Its going to be an approximately 200 person wedding, but I want it to still feel intimate. We also want it to feel like "spending a weekend at camp with our friends" only bigger (and more formal). Since camp weekends at our various friends' camps have been a big part of our relationship.
-Enough space to put up an outdoor tent capable of holding all 200 people.
-Availability of the space for the entire day of the wedding- I need to be able to take my time with things, and a lot of venues say things like "the bridal suite will be available for your use 2 hours before the ceremony" which in my world is not enough time to do anything, let alone prepare to get married. Also, we kind of want it so that when all of the older guests leave, we can hang out a little later with our friends.
-Nice view/photo ops
-The availability to bring in outside catering (we want to have a coffee bar in addition to a regular bar since many of our friends don't drink, and some places won't allow outside companies to come in and do things like that) Also I tend to hate wedding food.
-Ceremony location on the property or within walking distance
So like I said this is a huge wishlist... and I'm sure there's something out there that i'll fall in love with, but right now I've got a big wishlist and a bunch of venues that only fit parts of it.
So any ideas that you know of would be greatly appreciated!
