I have had several guinea pigs throughout my life and have loved them! My last one died in the fall, but she would love to curl up on my chest and be petted while I watched TV. Have fun & post pictures when you get it!
My sister's friend just adopted a g-pig. She came with the name Miss Piggy, but they changed it to Ms. Banks, cause she is FIERCE!
Eaak! We have three guinea pigs. I love, love, love them.
Henri, my first pig was adopted from a friends daughter who decided she didn't want to look after him anymore. He's the cutest, most amazing little animal on the face of the earth.
Glenn, my fi, and I decided to adopt two more piglets last year. I named mine Beasley (Yes, I am obsessed with the office) and he named his Athena.

ahhhh good for you!! i have two guinea pigs--burberry and tom. i LOVE them..so fun and low maintenance :) here is a photo from when i first got them..now they are about 18 months old and FAT so they can't snuggle like this anymore.

aww! congrats! i love gpigs, my sister has two of them..they are herd animals though, so if it's possible, you should think about also getting your new piggu a friend so he/she won't be lonely! :)
I LOVE guinea pigs! Unfortunately, I am quite allergic to them so they probably won't be part of our family's future. But congrats on your new addition!!!
i wanted a guinea pig for so long but my fi said he dont want no more animals at the house. we already have three cats and one dog. :(
congrats!! i can wait to see pictures
So, I have our little oink! haha He's a (big) boy and we named him Tycho. The pictures aren't the greatest because I just used my cell phone, but here's a couple:

So far, I've learned he loooooves apple. He doesn't seem too picky overall, but when I offered him a small bit of apple he yoinked it from my hand and was looking for more when he finished it. When I gave him other things he just kind of nibbled it. He's not the most cuddley, it would seem. He kind of pops around and tries to get away sometimes when we try to pet him, but I'm sure part of it is being in a new place with new people too, so we're trying to give him a bit of space first. He doesn't hole himself up in his igloo though, so that's good. He actually just pushes it out of the way and lays behind it sometimes. He also purposely knocked down his hay thing yesterday too. Little trouble maker :p
If anyone else has guinea pig pictures I'd love to see them!! You all have such cute little piggies!
I'm so excited to have him here!

He/she is coming home tomorrow! Mr. Joe works at an animal shelter and someone brought in a guinea pig. They don't usually take in small animals and just stick with cats and dogs, but for some reason they took it in and I BEGGED (literally lol) him for it. I've been wanting a guinea pig for a LONG time now. They're such fun little critters! I had one back when I was 14. Mr. Joe kept saying no, but we were at a work sponsored event tonight and his boss managed to coax him into it after I mentioned my interest lol Technically our apartment doesn't allow pets, so we'll have to be careful, but I think it'll be ok. I keep calling it an "extended foster" to Mr. Joe. Worse comes to worse and the landlord finds out and gets mad, the shelter will take it back, but I don't think it'll come down to that. Now I need name ideas! :D
