In the past I've bought Christmas gifts for my parents that were back ordered. I would print out a photo of what I was purchasing them and write a nice little note in a card about how their gift is on the way, but just a little late this year!
Maybe you can do the same?

@TinyTina - I like that idea. I'll probably bring my own album and show it to them, so they have an idea of what's coming. And that way we can still look through the pictures together... I feel like it just makes me look kind of bad though, like I couldn't get it together until the last minute :(
there was another post recently complaining that they moved up their deadline for christmas orders. it sounds like they got a lot more than they expected!
call customer service and ask for free shipping. can you print out a wedding photo or two and a picture of a photo album so they have something to open?
Yup, they moved the deadline up - but didn't advertise it. It was just kind of pouf, gone. Such bad business. They said they didn't realize there would be a spike in orders closer to the deadline - what?!
Yeah, that really sucks. I thought they would honor their word and give you free rush shipping.

Thanks - I took my comments over there. They actually did offer me free rush shipping, but they said it still wouldn't come after Christmas. Total bummer.
There was another thread on this yesterday. They stopped taking Christmas orders a day before their originally announced deadline. The demand mustv have way exceeded their expectations. Any time other than Christmas though, they have delivered all my five orders in time and I am very impressed with their customer service. I agree with @Tinytina, just write them a card and let them it's on the way. Is it the same album as yours? If so could you maybe give yours to them?
I thought of just giving them mine, but this one I customized for my mom (I edited a bunch of pictures I know she wasn't too happy with, and included a bunch more of her side of the family). I'll bring mine and try to print a few pages of the album preview so she gets the idea. I just feel like it makes me look like a total procrastinator when actually, I worked on it for weeks.
It's not the end of the world, it's just a bummer. I agree that off-season their service is much better, and obviously the product is amazing. Thanks for letting me vent!
Just an update - I ended up writing a pretty detailed review of my complaints on Yelp, and their customer service got in contact with me. I still probably won't have the book in time for Christmas, but they gave me free shipping and a gift card. I'm still bummed I probably won't have the book, but they were really nice and apologetic about it. So... at least they're trying. Hopefully next year they'll set an earlier deadline!
Ok I haven't been on here in 17 years....but I just got some prints back from Adoramapix and they are awful! So I did a search for "adoramapix sucks" (haha) and it brought me back to the Bee :) Anywho, my prints really suck, they are super dark. My mom's navy blue dress looks almost black :( Plus they took forever and a day to get here. (I too wanted to give pics as gifts.) Anyway I just wrote them and am waiting to hear back....boo.

I'm not sure what my point is in writing this review, because I would still use the company - the quality of AdoramaPix photo books is basically unmatched for the price. But I thought I'd let the Bees know that it is also not super dependable. I ordered a book from them before their deadline for Christmas - and then got an email that, whoops, they got too many orders - it won't come until after the holiday. No album for my parents. Empty-handed for Christmas.
So basically, don't deal with them if you're working on a deadline!
Sorry this is more a vent than a review... I'm so upset. I've been kind of brushing off my parents' requests for photos, because I knew I'd be getting them an awesome album for Christmas and it would all be worth it... and now nothing. I know it isn't the end of the world, but waaaaaahhhhhh.
