    I'm interested in renting jewelry from Adorn.com.

    Anyone have information regarding the credit card hold process? The 10% hold (or whatever it is) placed on a CC seems sketchy.

    My parents buy and sell jewelry as a commodity and I know for a fact that most of the pieces listed on the website are waaaay overvalued. Can buy the same jewelry for a fraction of the price, so I'm hesitant to rent and have to worry about unseen fees, etc.

    Any advice on this? Guess I'm just looking to have my fears assuaged before taking the plunge. Thanks!!

    My best friend recently rented diamond earrings and a bracelet from Adorn for her wedding and had a great experience. By all means, take the plunge because the jewelry was gorgeous! I’m getting married in March and have reserved a necklace and earrings to wear for my wedding. I’ve been really happy with their customer service so far.

    As for any 10% fee or hidden costs, my friend says there weren’t any hidden costs. They place a 5% hold on your credit card as a security deposit, but I expected that for what their pieces cost. As long as you return it, you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. I drive myself crazy with all the online research I do before I buy something or use a company, and found Adorn to be legit. They have partnerships with Kleinfelds and The Knot which helped put my mind at ease since they’re big in the wedding world.

    Why aren’t your parents buying you jewelry if they’re in the business? I couldn’t find real diamonds for purchase at prices lower than the rental costs.

    They seem to be everywhere with constant advertisements in magazines and tv. I would say they are probably pretty reputable but I would do an internet search of reviews before going ahead.

    Thanks for the tips ladies! All the research I have done presents them as a reputable company. But because the jewelry is so expensive, I wanted to get all the facts bf getting into it.

    @plarson: Good observation that my parents should just provide me with jewelry. I'm actually in 2nd place in Adorn's contest to win a free rental, which is why I'm eager to get details. My parents aren't happy about the contest...they want to give me the jewels. But the stuff on the website is SO gorgeous!

    (ps. Feel free to vote for me...Davina :)

    @drosen81:

    I guess you will have a good chance winning either way Smile  Good luck.
